Saltstraumen - Renowned as the world’s most powerful tidal current, Saltstraumen offers a breathtaking experience alongside the majestic 60-meter-high Valnesfossen waterfall. This tour provides an up-close view of both natural wonders. Saltstraumen reaches its peak strength four times daily, with speeds nearing 40 km/hr. Over a six-hour period, up to 380 cubic meters of water surge beneath the bridge. This area teems with life, including the frequent sight of Eider ducks and, with some luck, the majestic white-tailed eagle soaring above. The current’s immense power and the area’s rich history are truly captivating.

Valnesfossen - The journey to Valnesfossen spans approximately 3.5 km (2.2 miles). During snowy conditions, traditional snowshoes and poles are used, enhancing the winter hiking experience. It’s essential to wear sturdy outdoor footwear for this trek. The majority of the hike is on flat terrain, following a scenic river path. However, rainy weather can cause small streams to swell, making one crossing slightly challenging. The forest and river areas are rich in wildlife, with salmon swimming in the river and Norway’s national bird, the white-throated dipper, hopping on wet rocks. Among the pines and spruces, tracks of moose, foxes, and rabbits can be spotted.
