Amazing historical tour exceeded our expectations! - The tour exceeded our expectations! We had a driver and a guide which was perfect for giving us a chance to explore the sights with guidance and then returning to the car as it pulled up for us!
The guide was very knowledgeable about the history and my husband enjoyed chatting with him and the driver about soccer. Salvador is a truly beautiful place, we loved the rustic Portuguese buildings and cobblestone streets. We visited all the sights and we were enchanted with the beauty. We were so happy that we booked this experience, as we were only in town for one day, and we were met at the pier.
Communication on WhatsApp was flawless.

Very knowledgeable and attentive guide for me (73) and my slightly handicapped husband who is 87! - My husband and I arrived on a Silversea cruise and we hired Marcos, one of De Boa’s guides, to show us around on a 5-hour tour. He picked us up promptly at the marina entry and the driver Jorge drove us to the famous lighthouse and then to the upper town. My husband has difficulty walking distances and it was hot so he sat in a comfortable little restaurant while Marcos took me shopping next door for some souvenirs! Then we had a fabulous lunch at Cuco’s nearby (recommended by our driver and rated Number 1 on Trip Advisor!) before heading back to the ship!

Great experience in Salvador - Very interesting tour. A great experience with our guide Joao Luz who gave us a lot of informations about the history and culture of Salvador and Bahia. It has been a pleasure to visit together the most interesting part of the city, having the chance to learn a lot about the origin and traditions of the local people. Highly recommended!!

Essential walk in the pelourinho - I highly recommend the guided visit to the pelourinho. The company's guide Jorge was very friendly and presented us with a lot of knowledge of the place and its stories.

Excellent guide but poor company - Vito was a well-spoken and informative guide who gave us an excellent tour of Salvador de Bahia explaining its past and describing its current status.
While we would recommend our guide to all, we are far from satisfied with the operator, Boa Turismo, with which it was extremely difficult to communicate. While I wrote to the company several times weeks before our departure to confirm our pickup time and location, I never received a direct reply to both these questions. Moreover, several of the replies were in Portuguese. When we finally arrived at the passenger port terminal in Salvador, we faced a sea of taxi drivers and tour agents with no guide from the company bearing a sign with our names. It was a very confusing situation which was only resolved when another guide who knew Vito called him for us.
