Pink Lake and Bandia Reserve, a must for Senegal travelers! - The Bandia reseevat was really impressive. We have seen great animals, antelopes, giraffes, warthogs, crocodiles, buffaloes, ostriches, monkeys, etc. The landscape was also very picturesque. Afterwards, the program included a visit to “Pink Lake”. This used to be the finish line of the Paris-Dakar Rally! Everything was very informative and well organized. Also the contact in advance was good and reliable! Thank you Mamadou for that!

The Gambia safari was incredible - Malang was an excellent friend and guide. He was friendly to everyone whether or not it was his client or not. The safari was the best part of the trip. We even saw a black rhino, which is rarely seen.

Amazing Safari & Communicative Guide! - Best choice we could have made as Cruise passengers with limited time! Mika communicated very effectively leading up to tour which we shared van w/2 other passengers. The vehicle was very good for Dakar’s standards & very comfortable to get in/out. Mika’s local knowledge & wonderful smile made us feel so safe & cared for throughout the day! Bandia was AMAZING & so worth the extra distance. We saw endangered white rhino, giraffes grazing tree canopy, 1000 yr old Baobabs & more. There was long wait when we arrived but Mika arranged perfect safari truck & great local ranger ahead of others who walked up to book safari. Pink lake (40% salt) was interesting to learn about how locals do salt harvesting but can be skipped if in a time crunch. Thank you Mika for a glorious day in Dakar!

Worthwhile Excursion! - We had a wonderful, unforgettable day with Malang! Him and his driver arrived promptly, the journey was pleasantly smooth and comfortable. Malang generously shared plenty of information about the local area and Senegalese culture and landscape. Would highly recommend you book with him if you are visiting and looking for excursions!

Bandia reserve and Pink lake tour. - It was a very good experience to go on a safari and see all the wild life around the Bandia reserve. We did not have enough time to have a boat ride in the Pink lake since we had to go to the airport for our return trip. Our guide Lay Bayal was excellent so was the driver. As a seven hour tour it could have been nice to have a sandwich or fresh fruit and cold drinks available, since there was not time to go to a restaurant in the middle of the tour. I give it a four star.

Skip the Pink Lake. - I would recommend that Viator scrap the Pink Lake from this itinerary. The lake is no longer pink but rather has only a faint pinkish hue. The tour operator proposed bringing us out onto the lake in a very flimsy looking boat, clearly not seaworthy, which we and another couple on the tour declined to do. As there was nothing else to do at the Pink Lake we asked to be taken back to Dakar. I am giving this tour a 3 star rating because Bandia Reserve was very enjoyable and we saw lots of species of animals. It is possible to have lunch at Bandia but we were not given this opportunity because we needed to drive to the Pink Lake. it was an unnecessary long drive between the two. I recommend eliminating the Pink Lake and doing the Bandia Reserve as a half day tour + lunch. If environmental issues change and the lake is once again, pink, perhaps the Pink Lake can be reinstated in your itinerary.

Pleasant day At bandy reserve and A boat ride - We were picked up at 9 AM sharply, but then we were told the pink lake is no more pink so there was no reason to go there. I was highly disappointed. We went on the Safari was very nice after we were taken to another place where we went on a boat ride to see the lagoon, there was nothing spectacular about it overall it was a pleasant trip but not worth the money We paid if I knew that the pink lake was not included. I wouldn’t even bother. They should let us know before hand that the pink lake is no more pink so we don’t spend that kind of money to just basically go on a safari.

Bad reception - BONJOUR, TRIPADVISOR I stopped by the hotel Vaillant Sélestat to find out the room rates, for a future visit of two people. A very bad reception, ( I disturbed? ) the lady with the unkind reception, not a trader, I left I said “goodbye”, I am still waiting for the answer. I wanted to write the room rate for the record, she practically threw the pen on the counter. I wrote on a business card. I prefer to pay more and go to a welcoming place. I live in Alsace. Regards

The pink lake isn’t pink anymore. Don’t do this tour - Our guide Yo-to was great but the pink lake is no longer pink and 1) we were unable to go and 2) we should have been notified well in advance as opposed to 1hr into the tour. I want a refund. Terrible experience.

Rip off. Poor customer service - Did not get a private tour. We were delayed 1.25 hours waiting on a second bus in our 2 bus caravan. Did not go to Pink Lake cruise or even get to see it. Called viator and filed a claim. Got a claim number and got no response from them. I requested a partial refund. It's a shame they have such terrible customers service, because I am on a World Cruise and planned on booking quite a few excursions with Viator. My ranking is 1/2 star.
