An excellent trip to get a taste of the mountainous terrain of Tajikistan - Overall, an excellent trip to get a taste of the mountainous terrain of Tajikistan, especially if you are short on time. It makes an excellent day trip option from Samarkand Uzbekistan as well as can be a day transfer between Samarkand Uzbekistan and Dushanbe Tajikistan as part of a greater road trip.

Nature is the best of Tajikistan! - Coming from Khiva → Bukhara → Samarkand, I wanted to touch nature and joined a tour around 7 lakes in Tajikistan 🇹🇯. This was my first time using Viator, but the day before, I received a final WhatsApp call to check on my belongings. I could look forward to the tour with peace of mind. On the day of the event, both Uzbekistan side and Tajikistan side were very professional and kind guides and drivers. Thank you very much. We also enjoyed talking and picnicking with the German couple who were with us. Tajikistan is rustic, teeming with nature and offers a completely different view from Samarkand. If you come to Samarkand, I highly recommend visiting neighboring Tajikistan.

Amazing tour with tour guide Diloshub - The tour was absolutely incredible. I wasn’t just interested in seeing the lakes—I also wanted to visit local villages and connect with the people who live there. Thanks to my amazing tour guide, Diloshub, and our skilled driver, Vasya, I got to do exactly that. I highly recommend both of them for anyone planning a similar trip. Diloshub spoke excellent English and, since she was born in one of the villages we visited, she had deep connections with the local community. This gave me a rare opportunity to visit a local school, see village homes, and have real conversations with the residents. It was a truly unforgettable and enriching experience.

I booked on TripAdvisor, and I wrote. - The journey was a bit busy, but it was worth visiting. The tour itself was not impossible, but Tripadvisor or Viator brokerage app is too bad. I paid $125 here and I could book it for $80 if I went to Samarkand.

Great experience ! - I had an incredible experience at the Seven Lakes. The tour was exceptionally well organized, with a smooth pickup in Uzbekistan and an expertly prepared guide in Tajikistan. The Seven Lakes are a stunning natural gem that everyone should see if they’re in the area. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure!

A very nice day trip to the neighboring mountain region of Tajikistan / Seven Lakes - A very nice day trip to the neighboring mountain region of Tajikistan. The driver picked us up at the hotel and collected two people before, so we were driven to the border after a small refueling stop. After about 1 hour we had to get off and there came a somewhat cumbersome procedure over 1.5 hours with a lot of waiting and checking passes. Then we continued with a new driver and tour guide in a comfortable minibus. The guide explained many things about the land and the Seven Lakes. The road is quite bumpy and also not quite easy to drive. But the driver mastered all difficulties with flying colors, even narrow spots and steep slopes. The lakes are very beautiful blue glowing mountain lakes depending on the sunlight and everyone can see for themselves which is the most beautiful lake. The excursion is a full and very nice day tour. Our driver recommended our group a typical Uzbek restaurant where we could end our experience. All participants of our group found it very nice.

A very good day tour option - This is an amazing day trip from Samarkand and not tiring at all. A very kind and professional driver will pick you up at your hotel in Samarkand then drive you to the border where you will cross on foot (it's quicker than by vehicle. Takes about 20 minutes to cross the border but that's because the border officers are very laid back). On the other side of the border a van will wait for you to take you to the lakes. It's an amazing experience, every lake is different and also changes as the sun and clouds move. The stuff is very helpful and professional throughout, I highly recommend them.

7 Lakes Adventure in Tajikistan - Incredible experience!. Adventure guaranteed. The landscapes are stunning and the lakes each more impressive. It's one of the places you'd like to be longer. The guide knows everything about the region and the country in general, he is a person with a lot of charisma and kindness. He speaks perfect English and will be willing to answer all your questions. Very important to look at the visa based on your passport as you will cross the border. 100% recommended!

Good trip - rough, barren mountain valley with mountain lakes and very good guide - The organization and drivers were very good. Drive to the border, there we crossed the border without any problems with good preparation of the drivers. Alfred, the guide on the Tajik side has a super comfortable Toyota Prado Land Cruiser. Very nice, intelligent and very good English speaking guide. The Seven Lakes were impressive if you just want to have the experience of a rough, Tajik mountain valley with barren mountains and smaller lakes.
