Great experience! - This tour was a great experience! Victor, our tour guide, was attentive and knowledgeable. It was extremely convenient with pick up and drop off at our hotel. It was amazing to see the community of Palenque and learn about its history and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colombia. It is quite a bit of walking, so be prepared for the heat. They only provide one bottle of water so bring extra, but they were thoughtful about driving to locations to give us a break. The lunch provided was delicious and everyone was kind and welcoming.

An Exceptional Cultural Experience - The Palenque History Tour was an unforgettable and enriching experience. The program offered deep insight into the African diaspora and its lasting influence, presented with clarity and passion by knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming guides. It was a privilege to learn directly from Palenque natives, which brought an authenticity and depth that made the experience truly unique.
Although travel time was approximately two hours each way, it was well worth it. The tour provided the opportunity to enjoy authentic cuisine and local sweets, participate in traditional dance, and even learn ancestral cooking practices. Every aspect of the experience was thoughtfully curated and deeply meaningful.
This tour is a rare gem that combines history, culture, and community in an extraordinary way. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a profound and memorable journey.

Good place to visit for culture - Victor gave a great history of Palenque and showed me around the area. I was the only person in the group who primarily spoke English, but I didn't feel left out, he transferred everything. We stopped at a few places in town, saw a dance performance, and took a lot of pictures.

Palenqueeeee! - This experience is highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about African history and how these beautiful people from Palenque came to be! From Elki, our driver, to Sophia our guide, the whole experience for me was 10/10 🙌🏼 The passion Sophia has for her community is so beautiful and the pride she holds def reflects when she speaks of her town. A magical place full of History - We had such an unforgettable time visiting Palenque! The dancing was absolutely amazing—full of energy, culture, and heart. The food was delicious, and every dish was a wonderful taste of tradition. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, making the experience even richer by sharing history and stories that brought the place to life.

Such a GREAT cultural experience! - This was the highlight of my trip to Cartagena! So much history and beautiful people! Left with a changed heart and much appreciation for the history of Palenque. Be sure to dress for the outdoor weather (intense heat) and walking shoes (dirt/gravel roads). Victor, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about his village and answered all our curious questions. Support a family business who lives in the village where such vital history originated.
