Exciting night hike with great guide - We saw countless frogs, lizards, spiders and other insects on the night tour. Our guide Johander shared a lot of exciting information with us, which made the tour very entertaining and interesting. He also took some really great pictures with my phone. The Ecocentrum is a great project!

Excellent evening tour in La Fortuna - Denaus proved to be a beautiful slice of the jungle just outside of La Fortuna’s downtown area, and I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to spend a couple of hours spotting stunning wildlife in the dark. This was a last minute booking for us (literally an hour before the time), and despite being the only people that had booked the tour, we were welcomed with open arms. The guide, Walter, was fantastic. He walked us around the entire property, and we were able to spot an overwhelming abundance of wildlife. We saw so many frog species, a fer-de-lance, spiders, iguanas, and even an armadillo rustling through the brush. His calm demeanor and uncanny ability to spot frogs (no matter how small) proved remarkable, and he possessed an immense wealth of knowledge about every animal we were finding.

Frog adventures - In about an 2 hour tour we saw so many animals. The guide did an amazing job explaining everything.. as a former biology major it was super cool to see animals I had only seen in videos and books. The from were so tiny.

Even better than expected! - We saw so much in such a short time it was hard to believe! Great location with lots to see and Melvin was a great guide. He was pointing things out that we would have never noticed ourselves. He also got up close to take great photos with my phone. I couldn’t recommend this more!

Great experience - The guide was very knowledgeable and patient with the little kids we had in the group. We managed to see most of the nocturnal animals that we hoped to see.

Just outside of town and worth it! - We booked a night hike and unfortunately it poured rain the whole time! None the less our guide made the best of it. We saw a ton of frogs, Cayman, spider and some birds. he did his best to find a sloth but had no luck. The path was well taken care of and only a mile long round trip. Be sure to wear bug spray and bring rain gear. Our tour was small and again we made the best given the weather. The cool thing was our ticket got us entry the next day during the day. We went back and say more frogs, Cayman and butterflies. We even saw a toucan (only one of the trip!). This is a great small place to visit where you can see several species of reptiles, frogs etc.
