Sunny Snorkel and Kayak Trip - We did the kayak and snorkel tour and it was so much fun! Got to see tons of cool fish, some sea lions, and even a leopard shark! We loved learning about the local area and what is being done to protect it, as well as its history. Also a great workout paddling out and back from the snorkel area!

Incredible tour with top-notch guides—fun, challenging, and worth it! - We had an amazing time on this kayak tour. From the start, the staff was professional and helpful—even when I realized I’d accidentally booked for four instead of three. They explained the policy and said they’d try for a refund (which thankfully came through!), and I really appreciated the effort. Once we got to the beach, the real fun began. Steve and Jada were our guides, and they were absolutely fantastic—engaging, knowledgeable, and super supportive throughout the entire tour. They gave clear instructions, kept the group motivated, and made the whole experience feel fun and safe. We weren’t able to enter the sea caves due to unsafe conditions, but safety came first and they handled it with transparency and care. Even without the caves, the paddle itself was beautiful and challenging in the best way. It’s a legit workout, but completely manageable with the help and encouragement from the guides. This was one of the highlights of our trip—huge thanks to Steve, Jada, and the team for making it such a memorable experience. Highly recommend!

2 kayakers had trouble... - 2 kayakers had trouble getting back on their kayak. After 3 attempts the tour guys were able to get them back on. Then, the couple were struggling to get back and the instructors left them behind. The current was strong because we even got mixed into another tour group and nobody noticed.

Kayak bday fail - Do not take this kayak tour. The photos and description are completely romanticized. This company books way too many kayakers to handle. The shop is run by teenagers. The cove is beautiful. The caves are pretty. Snorkeling is a waste of time in these waters. Save your money for something else.

Disappointed - My boyfriend and I were visiting from Baltimore. We were looking forward to snorkeling and swimming with the sea lions in La Jolla cove. We arrived earlier than the recommended 45 minutes in order to park. Unfortunately, we drove around for at least an hour and could not find any place to park. We were unable to make it to our tour, so I called to let them know. They would NOT reimburse me the money for the tour or give me a voucher to use in the future. It was a big disappointment to say the least!

Friendly Staff, But Tour Didn’t Live Up to Expectations - We were excited to try the La Jolla Kayak and Snorkel Tour, and while the staff was very friendly throughout the experience, the tour itself left a lot to be desired. To start, we were told not to bring our phones because they would get wet, which turned out to be good advice. Our guide assured us that plenty of photos would be taken during the tour and shared with us afterward—but unfortunately, not a single photo was taken. That was disappointing, especially since we purposely left our phones behind based on that promise. We also had to pay extra just to rent a small locker for our belongings, which felt unnecessary considering the cost of the tour. A basic locker really should be a complimentary service. The guides did a great job getting us safely out past the waves—conditions were pretty rough and they handled it well. We kayaked over to the caves but weren’t able to go inside. I assume this was due to the weather, which was windy with a lot of waves, but it was never clearly explained to us. We had been told ahead of time that snorkeling might be canceled depending on conditions, and if so, we’d receive a refund for that portion. We did end up snorkeling, but I honestly would have preferred the refund. The water was very murky, and the only wildlife we saw were a few of the same orange fish. Based on the tour description, I was expecting to see leopard sharks and a wider variety of marine life. While I understand that nature and ocean conditions are unpredictable, the overall lack of communication, cost, and unfulfilled expectations made the experience feel like a big disappointment and waste of our afternoon in La Jolla. With a few improvements, this could be a much better tour, but based on our visit, I wouldn’t recommend it.
