La Jolla Must Do - We loved it! Our guide was Tyler and he was amazing. The tide was high and the lifeguards called a hazard 1 so we couldn’t go into the caves but the facts Tyler knew about the area were more than enough to keep us entertained. We saw way more wildlife than we thought! Including leopard sharks, bull sharks, the California state fish, sea lions, and plenty of birds! Our guide even caught some sea life and brought it to the surface for us to see. The water was cold, but after snorkeling around for a little bit, we warmed right up. Definitely recommend!

A highlight for our mom and son trip - Our guide, Kyle, was absolutely wonderful!!! While we booked the group tour, it was only me and my 15-year-old son. We saw tons of leopard sharks, sea lions, and many fish. The water was cold, but the wetsuits were sufficient. It should be noted in the description that while this says circle and sea caves with this tour, you are not supposed to go inside the caves which to me is a little misleading because the less expensive and shorter Kayak only tour goes inside the caves.

Great experience - We had a good experience on our kayak and snorkel tour. Water was clear so we could see leopard sharks while kayaking. Parking is very hard to find around this part of town so go early.

Outstanding guides, perfect way to experience La Jolla cove! - We absolutely loved our kayak tour of La Jolla caves. Ava was so knowledgeable about the local ecosystem in La Jolla and made our tour so fun and educational. She got us all up to speed kayaking in no time and was so encouraging throughout the tour!

Good times - Had a really good time. Weather cooperating would've made it even better, but that can't be helped. Kyle, our guide, was great. Check in was smooth, reasonably well organized. Equipment was in pretty good shape for loaner/rental gear. Couldn't get a good seal with my mask but that's probably d/t my beard, so no fault of theirs. Managed to see a horn shark despite the mediocre visibility in the water. (This isn't the carribean). Speaking of which, they ask if you want a wet suit. There is one correct answer, YES! That water is COLD. Still, once you get used to it (or numb) it was a good time. Kayaks were in good shape.

Mixed feelings. - Enjoyed the kayaking and our tour guide Tyler. He was friendly, educated us on the wildlife and took good care of us. I was not a fan of the young lady answering the phone in the office. She gave us poor instructions and it caused a delay in our departure. My best guess is that she thought we were only kayaking and did not need wetsuits though she signed us up. She did however help us by scheduling for a same day tour. We would go again and do the cave tour.

Enjoyed the trip but felt that more advanced advice could have been given - We enjoyed the trip, but felt that a better job could have been done prepping folks for their adventures. For example, two of the people on our trip got sea sick, and the ocean was much colder than the wetsuits accounted for. I strongly recommend going on a sunny day and taking some gravol beforehand if you're at risk of motion sickness. Overall, our guide was nice, the trip was fun, the conditions were not in our favour! There aren't nearly enough change rooms at the facility for all the groups, so expect to spend more time waiting than actually changing.

Scary but fun - The staff was great Beth did a great job helping us when our kayak flipped lol. It could have went way worse but outside of losing half our gear, flippers, snorkel, & a couple personal items ( hat & sunglasses) it was okay but this is definitely for people with experience of kayaking & being comfortable in the ocean which was a FIRST for me.. we spent a lot of time trying to get with our group so that part could have been organized. Being a visitor to California I didn't know a lot about this but still seen this as a cool adventure.

Canceled trip - I'm sure this was an amazing trip but we were unable to go sure to rough water. I don't have any problems with cancelations due to mother nature but we weren't called or emailed about the trip cancelation. We were only told it was canceled when we walked in to the shop 30 minutes prior to the trip.

Very disappointing experience - I’ve been on this experience about 10 years ago when it was much better. Granted the weather was better at that time however, I feel that there was lack of communication between the current employees about where we were snorkeling. We drifted outside, avoiding waves for over an hour without doing anything which caused a lot of people to get seasick. Due to the weather conditions, we were not able to even approach the cove, and the conditions were too rough to go snorkeling. There was a lack of guidance in general, even though employs seem nice. They offered us to go snorkeling off the beach, but it was still too rough and cold to do this. There was a safety issue where my seat was not tied correctly and when we tried to link boats my strap snapped because was not properly tied even before we got into the water. I spoke with Management and explained my disappointment and that if weather conditions have made the water too rough to fully experience it they should not take people out in the first place. Management did give a voucher however I have not planned to be in San Diego anytime soon and I wish I had gotten my money back.
