- USS Midway Museum - The Triton will pass by the USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that was once part of the United States Navy and the lead ship of its class. Commissioned just eight days after World War II ended, the Midway was the largest ship globally until 1955 and the first U.S. aircraft carrier too large to pass through the Panama Canal. It served for 47 years, participating in the Vietnam War and acting as the Persian Gulf flagship during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Decommissioned in 1992, it now serves as a museum ship at the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, California, and is the only non-Essex-class inactive U.S. aircraft carrier remaining.
