• Gaslamp Quarter - Josh will greet you in the lobby of the historic San Diego Trust and Savings Bank Building (now a Courtyard Marriott) to provide insights into how San Diego became the birthplace of California. Discover the stories of Spanish explorers, the initial settlement of Old Town, the Mexican-American War, and California’s journey to becoming the 31st state in the U.S.
• Horton Plaza Park - After exploring the Gaslamp Quarter, learn about the city’s expansion and the visionary development of downtown San Diego in the late 1800s, including its international acclaim and the establishment of the San Diego Zoo.
• Santa Fe Depot - The tour will pause outside the historic Santa Fe train station to explore how the east and west coasts were linked by rail. This connection ushered in an era of prosperity, attracting wealthy visitors to San Diego, particularly with the opening of the renowned Hotel Del Coronado.
• USS Midway Museum - The tour concludes outside the USS Midway Museum, highlighting San Diego’s involvement in world wars and its modern military industry. Please note that the tour does NOT include entry to the USS Midway Museum and will NOT go inside the museum.
