The day begins at Armstrong Woods, where visitors can walk among some of the oldest and tallest trees on Earth. The park features magnificent 1,500-year-old, 300-foot Redwood trees, providing an awe-inspiring walk through one of Northern California’s most unique forests. The decision was made to avoid the more popular Muir Woods, which is often crowded and detracts from the full enjoyment of the Redwoods’ majesty. Instead, Armstrong offers older and taller trees with fewer visitors, ensuring a more intimate experience.
The journey continues to a quaint timber town where lunch will be purchased, and if the weather allows, a picnic on the beach will be enjoyed while traveling along the stunning California coastline.
The day concludes in Sausalito, a charming town on the San Francisco Bay with enchanting views of the city. Guests can choose to return with the group or take a 30-minute ferry ride back to San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf.
