From Fisherman’s Wharf, along the water and beaches and across the Golden Gate - Had reservations that aided our check -in that went very smoothly. Agent at the desk was fabulous in asking where we wished to go and provided guidance on route, spots for great pictures and areas to caution. Bikes were of high quality and well maintained. These folks earned an A+.

Excellent bike company - The bikes were excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. We loved cycling along the coastline on the wide cycle paths. The ride over the Golden Gate Bridge was challenging with children due to high winds, lots of pedestrians and cyclists and the extreme noise of the car traffic. Make sure that younger members of your family are confident cycling on busy roads for their own safety if you choose to cycle all the way to Sausalito. Our kids were 9, 12 & 14.

Simple process to get a quality bike for exploring the area. - Great experience from start to finish. The bikes were exactly what you would expect, well maintained and good to use. The staff were excellent at setting us up, making sure we had the right equipment. We got small tutorial on paths we could use and then we were off. Dropping the bikes off was easy as well.

They made a flat tire into a minor blip - We biked from their Fisherman's Wharf store to the Palace of Fine Arts, across the Golden Gate Bridge to the Sausalito Ferry Terminal, by ferry to the SF Ferry Building, and by bike on the Embarcadero back to Fisherman's Wharf. Just 10 miles on our bikes but a terrific, hours-long adventure with lots of amazing scenery and fun stops. The bikes are excellent, helmets comfortable and top-of-the-line, and service outstanding. My front tire went flat near the bridge's north tower and the folks at Bay City Bike delivered a replacement bike to me at the parking lot across from the Marin County vista point in record time — no muss, no fuss.

Great day biking! - We had so much fun with the self tour! Marcus and Sierra were super helpful and it was a great way to see the city. The electric bike was the hero of the day and if you are on the fence go with the ebike!!

Go with the E-bike! - This was our first family E-bike trip and we had such a great time! We were all so exhausted from 3 days of hiking in Yosemite, that the E-bikes were perfect for us. We rode along the bike path, stopping to walk around the Palace of Fine Arts. Then we took the beach path along Chrissy field, stopping for some good photos of the bridge. The pier at the Warming Hut was a perfect picture spot too. We were unprepared for just how crazy the winds would be on the bridge...especially at the towers! But then, we did have high winds the day we rode. After the bridge, we rode up the hill to the lookout. There's no way I would try that without the E-bike assistance. Even then it was a struggle! But what a view! Sausalito was beautiful, and our lunch at FISH was fun (though we had a hard time finding a bike rack). I suggest arriving at the ferry half an hour early if it's busy. They can only take so many bikes, and we were worried we weren't going to make the cut. BTW when we left the bike shop the top of the bridge was in fog, but by the time we got there it was clear!

Great service, but don’t pay extra for the ferry tickets - We enjoyed the service and our ride. The check-in/checkout process was very efficient. They gave us a very clear overview of the city map before we left, which was very helpful. The equipment was in great shape. They sold us ferry tickets back from Sausalito with the understanding that we could “skip the line” when getting on the ferry however, this wasn’t honored when we tried to board the ferry. Save a few extra dollars and buy the tickets separately online or on the ferry.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE AVOID THEM. - The most terrible and waist of time experience dealing with this unprofessional company. We hired bykes from San francisco bay for the day after an hour one of the bikes tyre came off the rim. We called. We asked for assistance on the help line after 20 min the assistance manager of the Bike shop by the Name of Leo answered very rudely puting the phone down on 4 occasions. When we did manage to speak to him he tried to blame us for the bike problem of which we found out later it was due to poor mentanance. He informed us we will need to wait for over an hour for road assistance or cut our bike ride short and come back by ferry. 2 of us said goodbye to our friends bought ferry tickets and went to return the bikes. We ended Walking with the bikes. Spoke to a person by the name of Christian as the manager was away on holiday who asked us to feel a form to complain. No money or any compensation was given to us he said a manager will call us back. No one did 3 days later. We left the shop very disappointed. Be careful they are happy to take your money but not give you any service.
