- ATM Cave Belize- Actun Tunichil Muknal - ATM Cave is located within the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. It’s located approximately one hour drive south east of San Ignacio Town in the Teakettle Village. A thirty minute hike through jungle trails and river crossings will bring you to the entrance of the cave. A short swim, approximately 15 feet allows access to “Xibalba” the Maya underworld. From here you will be guided by your headlamp, navigating your way through the cave to the main plaza, where burial chambers can be found. Along the way you will learn about the sacrificial ceremonies that took place in this sacred place thousands of years ago. Intact calcified remains, ancient artifacts and altars where Maya leaders would make blood offerings, tell the story of what once took place. You will return to your hotel or resort mid-afternoon with stories to tell of your adventure and memories to last a lifetime.

You will have the opportunity to delve into this astonishing cave network that was formerly utilized by ancient Maya for performing sacrifices. A professionally qualified, licensed guide will accompany you. The journey to this sacred ground involves swimming, navigating subterranean passages, walkways, and funerary vaults adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, and old clay earthenware.
The tour initiates at 8:00am and rounds off around 3:00pm.

- A minimum of 2 (two) people per booking is required

You can't go wrong with this ATM tour. Just click "buy" - After hearing fellow travelers say just how good this trip is, I had very high expectations. This exceeded my expectations in every way. Hector was super knowledgeable, and was such a fun tour guide. He made sure we had the best experience possible and I can't thank him enough. Our driver Wayne had a refreshing sense of humor and made the drive seem too short. Definitely recommend you give these guys a shot!

Heck-of-a-tour - Hector and Wayne were both a lot of fun. Highly recommend them as your guide and driver. Our group was the prefect size, all the same experience level, and so we kept a great pace. Inside the cave was amazing. There were definitely tight/low overhead spaces, but we managed just fine. Note: majority of the tour you will be in some level of water. Not until you climb up to see the remaining artifacts, will you leave water. The water temperature inside the cave was a bit warmer than outside but again manageable. Overall, would love to do it again.

10/10 experience! - I shopped around and this was the best price tour I found. The value ended up being so much more than I anticipated though! This tour leaves before the others so you get to see everything instead of being in a human traffic jam. Also, the included lunch was one of the best I've eaten on tours that included meals. Our tour guide has been doing this exact tour for decades and shared his rich knowledge with us. 10/10 experience!

Best Tour Guides Ever! - This tour was absolutely amazing! Hector was incredible! My parents, who are in their 70s, went with us. Not only did Hector ensure they safely navigated the cave, he literally gave my mom the socks off of his feet! The sole of her shoe fell part, and he put his sock over her shoe so she could comfortably finish the tour.

Great tours - We did two tours with the agency. Reuben was very helpful in arranging and tailoring the tours for us. We went to both cave tubing and ATM. Hector, our guide to ATM, was extremely professional and always saw to our safety. Would come again!

Best option! - This tour was stunning! Everything was perfect organized and the tour guide was lovely. This tour also starts early in the morning and this was so worth it, because we were nearly the only ones in the cave. Would do it again, 100% recommend! Also shoutout to Reuben in the office, he was amazing

A Must See - This was the highlight of our Belize vacation. If you do one thing in San Ignacio, ATM should be it. This was not only a highlight of our trip, it was one of my best all time travel experiences. Belize Cave Experiences guild, Eduardo, was amazing!

ATM Cave Tour - The ATM cave tour pushed me out of my comfort zone, but Wayne and Hector truly made it an unforgettable experience. Hector was attentive, ensuring I felt secure while navigating the cave's challenging obstacles, never making me feel like I was a burden to the group. Wayne was a wealth of local knowledge and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time.e.

Rushed, no time to explore, rude guides - These guys have no sense of customer service and the rest of the positive reviews seem to be made up…
The food was not ready, and we had to wait a long time to pick it up. This is after we got to the location at 7:00 AM.
The tour was extremely rushed. Anytime you stopped to admire the cave’s beauty, the tour guide would rush you along. He was constantly leaving the group far behind and he kept going further and further, and there were multiple times where he was completely out of sight.
The guide’s few safety instructions were brief and confusing. When we were exploring the pots and remains, he was continuously repeating the same handful of sentences the entire time. On the way back, he was extremely rude and was going so fast that no one in the group knew which path to take. Hector, our guide, ruined the entire experience for us.
Wayne the driver was almost maniac and had a ton on anxiety and rudeness. Was worried about his cloth seats in the van, rather than customer service. He commanded us to change into dry clothes, not caring that we just wrapped up a long tour and would like to eat (the cold food) first. When we requested that we would change the clothes later, he was furious and started yelling.

Terrible Service - Our tour guide, Hector, was extremely rude and seemed more inclined to get to his lunch break than to be here. There were times where we were wading the river with the nothing but a rope guiding us, because the tour guide was far ahead. His passiveness was disappointing.
