Morado Natural Monument & Hot Springs

Monumento Natural El Morado - Embark on a hike through a stunning mountain glacial valley nestled in the Andes. Revel in the breathtaking views of the 4500-meter Morado Mount and the San Francisco Glacier.

Duration of the activity:

Day 1: 3 hours of ascent and 2 hours of descent. Total: 5 hours (including rest breaks)

Time of transportation:

Day 1: 2 hours from Santiago to the trailhead + 40 minutes of transport to the hot springs after the hike.

Termas Valle de Colina - Spend an evening soaking in the warm waters of Colina Hot Springs amidst the Andes (some reaching over 40º Celsius) while witnessing a vibrant sunset over the mountains, followed by a magnificent starry night, a sight seen in few places worldwide. Perhaps a shooting star will pass by as you enjoy a refreshing beer.

Morado Hanging Glacier and Lagoon

Glaciar Colgante El Morado - Trek through a glacial valley flanked by awe-inspiring mountain peaks. Arrive at a stunning glacier that cascades into a lagoon surrounded by icebergs.

Duration of the activity:

4 hours of ascent and 3 hours of descent. Total: 7 hours (including rest breaks)

Time of transportation:

30 minutes from the hot springs to the trailhead + 2.5 hours back to Santiago

Distance: 6 miles / 9 km (one way) / Elevation gain: 1000 meters - 3280 feet / Maximum altitude: 3150 meters - 10334 feet

Spend two days hiking through the heart of the Andes, surrounded by breathtaking glacier views. In the evenings, relax in soothing hot springs nestled in the mountains and marvel at the starry sky and shooting stars. Your hike will take you through picturesque Andean valleys, offering sights of various glaciers and Andean lagoons dotted with icebergs. Our campsite will be conveniently located near the hot springs.

• Physical and medical condition must be compatible with activity (When in doubt, please ask)
• If you choose the ‘Two Day Hike’, please bring a change of clothes, camping gear, a swimsuit and sunglasses
