I agree with their postings and will not repeat them, and therefore I will focus on other aspects. 1. Should you go here? If you have any interest in archaeology or history, this is an essential destination. The images are amazing. The history is compelling. 2. If you have any delusions of doing this on your own, let me dissuade you and advise you to travel with this excellent outfitter. The road to the site is terrible. You need either a high-clearance 4WD or a motorcycle. If you rent a 4WD (and there is only one vehicle-rental outfit in San Jose del Guaviare), you have already spent more money than this tour. And the road is such that you could still get mired or break an axle...and you can't summon AAA or call for a tow truck. And even if you get to the trailhead, you will be required to hire a local guide. What if there is not an available guide? And how much will that cost you? So don't try to do this on your own. Sign up for this tour and forget the hassles!
