Easy hike, knowledgeable... - Easy hike, knowledgeable and friendly guide, saw 31 species, many new to us! It is morning so you will need layers as it's chilly to start and then gets warm. You also get a tour of local farmsteads by default.

Excellent Birdwatching - Birdwatching with Benjamin was a treat. We saw almost 50 species, including many new lifers for me! Benjamin is an experienced birdwatcher and is highly knowledgeable of local birds. Additionally, his English is excellent. He picked us up directly from our hotel in San Pedro. Binoculars are provided if you did not bring your pair and Benjamin brings a scope for long range viewing as well.

Many new unusual birds to see! - I was really impressed with Benjamin‘s birding skills. I am a beginning birder, and so it was great to learn from him. Including good places to look for birds, some of the calls and in general to advance my birding skills. We had a lot of fun and I saw over 25 new birds on the tour. Also, Benjamin‘s fluency in English is truly impressive. We were accompanied on our birding tour by some friendly street dogs which was fun. This tour really made my visit to Lake Atitlan special.

Birdwatching tour - The tour guide Benjamin was terrific. It was a solo tour so I had the opportunity to speak with him for hours mostly in Spanish, which is helpful. When I told him I was hungry. We went to a restaurant to get a snack and coffee and he seemed to know everybody he made it a really memorable tour and we analyzed birds and plants. He seemed very knowledgeable of the route that we were walking.Highly recommend because while it was strenuous, it wasn’t as strenuous as one of those five hour 10 hour hikes up the mountain

Incredible! Must-do! - Highly recommend this tour! We had an incredible time on the drive to the forest anc during the tour. Stunning landscape and birds and an amazing. kind, and flexible tour quide! You won't be disappointed! The tour guide took photos and videos through his scope with my phone, so I was able to have an artist paint my favorite bird!

Interesting bird watching - This trip was great with Benjamin. He was really knowledgeable about finding the birds by their calls and had a scope to show us and take pictures. We saw many interesting birds.

Great birding tour in Tepepul ! - I had a great birding tour with Benjamin in mirador of Tepepul. We saw 28 species including motmots, emerald toucanet, crested guan and of course the quetzal. We were able to observe 2 male quetzales which flew from branch to branch in front of us. Benjamin has extended knowledge about the birds of the area. I highly recommend to book a tour with him and I won't hesitate to contact him if I come back to lake Atitlan to go explore an other location like los Tarrales.

I'll just keep going with GUAN!!! - On this trip to Guatemala, I went birding with Benjamín of GUAN 3 times, making a total thus far of 6 excursions. Each time I am left very satisfied! This time I returned to both Rey Tepepul (where we enjoyed an extended siting of a male Quetzal!) and Tarrales. We also went to Chuirixamolo. I think my favorite destination is Tarrales, as there are so many types of wildlife. The only place I've ever seen agoutis (those curious little mammals) has been in Tarrales. Benjamín is always patient and interested as I try to identify plants and butterflies there. Tarrales is also the least demanding physically as it's relatively flat. The creeks and lagoon lend it a very tranquil feel. As always, Benjamín's knowledge is vast and impressive and his patience as I struggle to see the birds is apparently inexhaustible. Fortunately, his equipment is very helpful for seeing the winged wonders!

Enjoyable birding in the city - Even though in the city of SanJuan, we saw 26 species of birds. Our guide was excellent and, the group very small (just me). This is a wonderful birding opportunity for solo travelers looking for a simple bird watching opportunity.
