Wonderful Puerto Rican adventure! - We truly enjoyed this excursion! Yamile is a great guide and was very helpful in navigating the trail and water. This was a beautiful trip exploring the river and nature in western Puerto Rico. I highly recommend this adventure!

Absolutely unforgettable experience, Yamile is the best! - This was honestly one of the highlights of our entire Puerto Rico trip, truly so, so good. Our guide Yamile was hands down the best, sweetest, and most caring guide we’ve ever had. We were staying in Brenas, which is outside of the official pickup area, but she still went out of her way to arrange a convenient pickup point along her route so we could join , which already meant a lot. What made it even more special is that we almost had to cancel because a last-minute meeting came up. The night before, Yamile actually called us and spoke with such warmth, enthusiasm, and sincerity that she convinced us not to miss it, and we are so grateful we listened. It truly felt like she genuinely cared about us having this experience. Her van was very clean and comfortable, and the drive included narrow, winding mountain roads, but she drove extremely carefully and confidently, which made us feel very safe. She also provided everything we needed: life jackets, water, and all the gear, so we could just relax and enjoy the day. Along the way, Yamile shared so much about the local history, culture, scenery, and tropical plants. It never felt scripted, it was engaging and you could tell she really loves what she does. The tour itself was incredible: waterfalls, hiking, climbing, caves, rainforest, canyon views, cliff jumping, and floating through the river. The part where you just drift in the water was especially refreshing and peaceful, it felt like a reset. Yamile also took tons of beautiful photos for us, with great angles and timing, so we could fully enjoy the experience without worrying about capturing everything ourselves. She then brought us to a very local, delicious lunch spot, not touristy at all , such a nice touch. From 7 a.m. to around 3 p.m., it felt like a full day of adventure with someone who truly cared about making it special. We honestly didn’t want it to end. We had done an El Yunque tour last year, and this experience was on a completely different level, more fun, more varied, and with a guide who was far more engaging, attentive, and thoughtful. Highly, highly recommend booking with Yamile. If you’re choosing between tours, choose hers. You won’t regret it.

Great Tour and Guide - Honestly, this tour was amazing. Our group was small (9 people total). My fiancé and I were super content with the service provided by Enrique. He literally made you feel as if you were part of his family from the beginning to end. He made sure everyone's safety during the tour was his #1 priority and that we had fun. He was very knowledgeable with the trails, providing clear instructions on how to walk through the trails and go through the river. There were 2 cliff jumps during the tour, and he also provided a way to continue the tour without doing the jumps if needed. Highly recommend this tour if you want a bit of history and fun. Also, awesome pictures and videos taken during the tour. Thank you, Enrique M., for providing such an amazing experience throughout the tour and Puerto Rico as a local for having such a talented guide.

Amazing!! - We had an AMAZING time! Enrique was diligent, friendly, and informative. His love for the island shone through and made the trip even more enjoyable. The route and views were absolutely stunning. SO worth the money!! do it!!

An Incredible Tour with an Incredible Tour Guide & Tour Company! - All in all, the tour was an 11 out of 10, and not just because of the activities. There are plenty of tour guides & tour companies in Puerto Rico that can lead tours but not every tour company & tour guide can do it with passion & sincerity. It did not feel like our tour guide Enrique was leading a tour; it felt like he was teaching a history class that happened to involve a tour with hiking, cliff jumping, cave expeditions, etc., which makes for a much more invaluable experience that remains with you for the rest of your life. I also learned a great deal about Ms. Yamile from Enrique even though she was not able to be present to lead the tour which makes me feel comfortable enough to vouch for her as a phenomenal tour guide herself. So..., what are you waiting for my friends/family. Go ahead & book this tour! If you are still hesitant & would like more details of what to expect, read on ¡por favor! Although Enrique was our tour guide, Ms. Yamile contacted me by phone & Whatsapp 2 days before the tour to provide instructions & to finalize pickup plans for the tour. Hearing a very friendly voice & having a very sincere conversation helped a great deal with increasing my excitement for the tour & with providing some certainty amid an uncertain adventure! On the day of the tour, Enrique picked me up exactly at the time I was told he would which made it a total of 9 people on the tour. As for our tour guide, Enrique was EXTREMELY funny, knowledgeable & friendly throughout the entire tour! Enrique helped to build trust among the group of 9 strangers & even managed to turn the group into a "family" as Enrique would say through fun travel games & interactive activities. Although there were 3 caves, we only were able to swim into 2 for safety reasons (due to recent rains) but the 2 we explored were incredible! We hiked, swam, jumped from 2 cliffs, had plenty of opportunities for pictures & videos that Enrique took for us & learned some great Puerto Rican history along the way. My recommendations for those booking this adventure are to bring water shoes that have GREAT grip due to how slippery the rocks are in the water (I fell once!); that can also handle moderate hiking & to wear long sleeve dry fit shirts and leggings (for men and women). I wore men's leggings and a long sleeve dry fit shirt which was very comfortable throughout the entire trip and dried quickly. After leaving the caves, we changed clothes & had authentic Puerto Rican food at a great restaurant before ending our adventure at the Hot Springs alongside some friendly locals. Enrique also shared a helpful list of places to visit for shopping & eating throughout the rest of our stay in Puerto Rico via Whatsapp which was very thoughtful. Well done, my brother, Enrique!

Amazing guide, beautiful tour - Yamile is the best tour guide I’ve ever had! She combines local insights with cultural and historical facts, as well as some fun nature tips. I especially love how she tailored the adventurous parts of the hike to our group (we learned how to identify cashew, gourd/maraca, and breadfruit plants). Also, she takes great action photos that I’ve already enjoyed sharing with my family and help me remember my special solo trip. One of my favorite parts of this tour was swimming in a cave in the dark with only the sound of the water dripping in the cave. What a great way to connect with nature. Couldn’t recommend a better experience and guide :)

Super Adventure!!! - Get ready for adventure!!! This company is a one woman show with the most energetic, caring, lovely and skillful guides you could ever want for a full day cave and nature excursion. Yamile is a remarkable human being. She drives a new large van for early morning pick-up and immediately encourages socializing and familiarity (“me familia”) among the attendees. We arrive at the path to the entrance of the caves. The 1st half of the trip takes place on two sides of a large cave formation with running water from the mountains. There is swimming, some climbing, some waterfalls and a lot of walking through water. The lighted cave and the moving water is magnificent. Yamile is very careful to provide detailed instructions so that every participant safely passes by any water/cave obstacles at their comfort level. The second half of the trip was lunch at an authentic Puertorican restaurant serving th email staples of chicken, rice, pork and stew. Great food! Lunch is followed by a quick sharing of extra food with some loveable loca, stray dogs (Yamile has a dry kind heart and teh dogs run right up to her). Then we head off for an hour long nature walk where Yamile shows het secret stash of native nuts, gourds and plants. Yamile is extremely knowledgeable and you can feel her respect and love of nature. The trip ends won’t a watering hole and rock/cliff jumping point (If you have the energy!) WHAT TO BRING: My wife bought a bikingshort and swim suit top that protected her legs. This was a great choice. A regular swimsuit with a swim shirt worked for me. Ww both had decent water moccasins like you would use for Kayaking. I would not go with anything open toed. There are many rough and sharp surfaces. Something with a little heft might hav been better. You defiantly want a water proof case for a phone. Yamile does a wonderful job taking pictures, but we snapped a lot of great shots ourselves. WARNING: This excursion is not for everyone. You must be able to climb and swim. If you have flexibility issues or any injuries I would not recommend this excursion. If you are afraid o th dark or afraid of bats, this may not be for you! That said, we felt safe and never felt claustrophobic.

Amazing river and cave experience, with a fantastic guide. Well worth the price. - Tremendous day! Yamile is the best, knowledgeable, fun, attentive. The time on the River, floating, jumping, scrambling up rocks to get to a special view, all of it was amazing, and made better by Yamile’s informative narration. The caves were spectacular. Then an authentic Puerto Rican lunch, (yum!) and on to a nature walk and dip in a spring fed pool. We definitively recommend Yamile, this tour, (puertoricoasalocal.com) and Puerto Rico as a beautiful vacation experience.
