You won’t regret booking this experience!! - I cannot recommend this experience more. We were picked up outside our accommodation around 5am and taken 1 hour away for our sunrise hot air balloon ride. The balloon ride was incredible and the pilot was very skilled. We were provided an English speaking guide the entire day and we did everything on the itinerary including the breakfast in a cave, mezcal tasting, and guided tour of the pyramids.

10/10 recommend - Wow what a production! So impressive how well organized the company is. They were very responsive to questions beforehand, and the night before will send a message with pick up time and location. They were very accommodating and able to pick us up directly from our Airbnb. It does get pretty cold due to the higher altitude, but the girl at the check-in even let me borrow her own jacket! So sweet of her! The pilot was excellent and very experienced. We felt very safe the entire time, the landing was also very smooth as they have numerous crew members to help. Just FYI, that seeing the pyramids/flying over them is not a guarantee, depends on the wind and weather conditions for the day.

Great experience - This review is only for the balloon flight as we did our own transportation. As someone who is afraid of heights, this hot air balloon ride was amazing! Our captain was phenomenal and such a professional. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Great, worthwhile experience - Overall I will say this tour package is well worth it. We had an amazing time every step of the way so I would strongly recommend it. To start, we were picked up at our hotel at 4am. We were the first pick up of about 5 stops. They picked us up in order of distance from farthest to closest to the pyramids and you’ll find out the day before what time pick up is. So don’t anticipate a 5am, it may very well be earlier. After about an hour drive, we arrived at the hot air balloon facility. There were numerous other facilities in the same area which made for a beautiful sight. You’ll see the sun start to rise while you’re still on the ground and getting ready to take off. There are bathroom facilities and coffee with snacks for the morning. In the balloon there are four spaces where roughly 3-5 people climb in. There are foot steps built into the basket for you to climb up and over with assistance of the staff. The team will take multiple photos so go for it. They have a variety of options at the end to choose from. We splurged and got the full package so we could have all our photos as well as the drone cam footage they take while you’re in flight. The ride lasted about 25 minutes before our first landing attempt. The views from the air were incredible and to watch the sun continue to rise painted a truly magical experience. We did make 3 attempts to land given there were other balloons in the area and also limited places. The team were pros though and despite it taking a few attempts and some time we felt perfectly safe. After landing we had a taste of Lambrusco (sweet red wine). Then our van picked us up and we headed to breakfast. When we arrived the restaurant is located inside a cave. You go down a very windy, narrow walk. There was a sizeable line to get in as they had just opened but it moved fairly quickly. For breakfast the food options were pretty limited. The table gets bread and cafe de olla. We chose to have chilaquiles which are a traditional plate and very tasty. While we were eating, there were also some performances. Both seemed to be traditional Mexican dances to highlight the culture while you enjoy breakfast. One was Danza de los Viejitos and the other I’m unsure. After breakfast we went back to the van and headed to a local tequila shop where they gave us a brief lesson on how it’s made. This was a fairly quick stop and there was a nice gift shop. We got back in the van and headed to the pyramids. Our balloon tour guides dropped us off and we were met by a special guide for the pyramids. Diego gave us a great tour of Teotihuacan. We learned about the pyramids (which actually aren’t pyramids) and much history of those who lived there previously. Diego was great, helped with pics, answered questions and genuinely loved sharing his knowledge and passion with us which was great. And that concluded the tour. We were taken back to the Angel of Independence and from here had to cab back to our hotel. It was convenient to not have to do this for pick up, but it wasn’t a problem. It also gave us the opportunity to see the Angel up close. Also, on Sundays they close Reforma (the street the Angel is on) so you can rent a bike and join everyone as they run, roller blade and bike down the street.
