• ISIS RODRIGUEZ - The Mexican Art Class offers a bilingual experience in both English and Spanish. Participants can select from Portrait, Full Figure, Still Life, or Landscape. The class delves into Pre-Hispanic beauty and aesthetics through a historical and cultural perspective. It begins with a brief introduction to the history of Pre-Hispanic aesthetics and beauty, followed by a short drawing or painting demonstration.

Students will then choose their preferred subject, whether it be portrait, still life, or landscape. They can also select their medium of choice: drawing, pastels, watercolors, or oils. Maestra Isis will be on hand to provide assistance and guidance.

By the end of the class, students will have created a piece of art that they can take home and frame as a cherished memory of their experience!

For those opting for oils, a two-day booking is required. All equipment, models, photos, and art materials are provided.

Maestra Isis Rodriguez is a globally acclaimed and internationally acknowledged artist, holding a B.F.A in painting. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she has resided in Mexico for two decades.

Recognized as the best art teacher in San Miguel, her art classes uniquely integrate art with Mexican culture, following the spiritual philosophy of “nepantla,” a 16th Century Nahua term meaning “in the middle of things.” The models and reference materials are native to this region, and students receive oral lectures on art and cultural history, along with an introduction to contemporary Mexican and Latin American modern music while they work. Beginners and individuals of all skill levels are welcome.

This 2-Day Mexican Art Class delves into various mediums, including ink, drawing, pastel, watercolor, and oils. Participants can explore styles ranging from realistic to abstract.
