The best thing we did in San Miguel - I’m so impressed with this company and our experience on the sunset horseback ride. I hadn’t ridden a horse before, but the horses were super gentle and responsive. The cowboys were extremely helpful and kept a close eye on us. I felt safe and comfortable. I was hesitant because of the cost, but it was worth every penny and I can’t wait to do it again.

Great if you love horses and cantinas!! - This is the funnest thing in San Miguel de Allende. The guys and horses are fun but safe. They love and take great care of their horses. Will do this again with our kids one day! The saloons were great as well.

Cantina tour - Beautiful horses and excellent cowboys we did the cantina tour at sunset. We rode through San Antonio and visited the first cantina for around half an hour. We continued the ride through SAN Juan de Dios and into Insurgentes to the 2nd cantina. Then ended at el Tupinamba. We loved tte experience.

Proposal on horseback - The experience was amazing and unmatched. Daniel was always very attentive to every detail of the process and the result exceeded expectations. Fortunately I was in the best of hands. The very nice horses, the place of the magic sunstet, the very talented Mariachis and the photographer service managed to capture all the magic.

Great experience even if you don’t know horses - I was scared to ride at first but the guides are so experienced and helpful. Saw a lot of the city I would have never seen as we went from country to city. Met some nice people too!

Amazing views on horseback - What an experience! We had a great ride— it began at the farm, journeying beneath hills and cliffs. There is a bit of a climb to reach the summit. Despite our negligible experience on horses, the horses navigated the terrain with ease. They were very well behaved and easy to ride- we laughed as the only issue we had was the horses pausing to eat the occasional patch of grass.
The sunset view was unbelievable. The vast beauty of the valley was incredible from the peak and a perfect spot to pause for photos. We even saw a rainbow as a storm was rolling through the valley.
The ride into town was through authentic neighborhoods. We felt safe, but you do pass through the outskirts of town. Inside the city center, it was lovely to ride the cobblestones streets.
Our guides were very competent, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely recommend!

Fun, scenic and exciting! - My group of 5 women, some with no horseback riding experience, truly enjoyed this adventure. Starting from a ranch outside of town, riding up a rocky trail to hilltop, and down into the streets of San Miguel gave a variety of sites to take in. The sunset photos at the top are spectacular. Views of town, valley and mountains were stunning for most of the way.
The 4 cowboy guides were very professional and took good care that everyone was safe. Given that we are all over 60 and I many novices this was appreciated! The leader did a great job communicating and took photos and video at the same time. The horses were calm and well cared for.
I highly recommend this adventure. It was a Friday, town was busy with traffic, so town was not our favorite part. Total time on the horse was about 90 minutes, which was long for some. Consider going on a weekday. But go!

Not a good experience! - The posted photos are misleading if you are taking the ride in San Miguel de Allende! They are predominantly about San Antonio. In San Miguel de Allende you end up on busy streets with cars, buses, and trucks continuously competing for the street with your horse. It is a resolutely urban, not especially relaxing experience...
A few things that went wrong:
(1) We received from Trip Advisor and from the agency contradictory information on where the ride would start. We arrived at the wrong spot.
(2) Within 10 minutes of our departure a fierce storm—a deluge actually—started. While the agency indicated that raincoats would be available in the event of rain, the ponchos our guides gave us let the water through. As no head coverings were provided, we were all completely drenched within minutes.
The horses became increasingly anxious and struggled to keep going on the slippery pavement. Our guides were stoic.
(3) When it became clear that we would not reach the first cantina for a while and in view of how miserable all of us felt we asked the guides to stop the experience. They were distressed at thought that it takes them three hours to bring the horses back home and that they were to to do so under such heavy rain. Three hours! We felt guilty when thinking of the hardship our guides have to go through to give rides to tourists like us. It did not feel like a fair trade experience otherwise they would probably not have bitterly complained.
(4) Of course the agency cannot be held responsible for bad weather. However, when they indicated that rain gear would be provided, we wished it had actually been adequate, for we would have continued despite the heavy rain.
(5) As a gesture the agency offered a 20% discount on our next adventure, which we can’t use as we are leaving town and were unimpressed with the organization.
I cannot recommend this experience. It did not meet the description nor travelers’ accounts, which seem to have been based on their experience in San Antonio.
