Fantastic Experience - This cooking class was fantastic. We came to Cozumel with friends and stayed in a condo owned by one our friends family. In spite of the fact that they’ve been to Cozumel a handful of times, this class afforded some new experiences and sights, even for the experienced Cozumel travelers. We started out at the market, where Taniya showed us each of the ingredients we would be using and purchased it all fresh. The. We headed out to an organic agave ranch for some tequila tasting (the legit stuff! Lots of fun and very entertaining). Then it was off to the house to prepare the food. It was a hot day, but there were fans going to help keep us cool. The food was amazing and so filling—by the time we got to the main course (pibil chicken and a fish dish) we were already stuffed. It was all too good to pass up. We even learned some new tips for making guac! The hosts were fun and engaging. My friend said multiple times she was so glad we did this because she never would’ve thought to do it on her own and it opened up some new places—like the tortilleria—for future trips! We even made the chicken pibil and frijoles for our spouses as dinner the next day!! Highly recommend!

Authentic cooking experience with great teacher - If you want authentic cooking, fresh ingredients and a fantastic teacher this is for you. We loved it! Tania was our host and teacher, very friendly and knowledgeable. We gathered the ingredients at the local market, Tania drove us to a local home and made many dishes (about 8) and 2 different Margaritas. One piece of advice - don’t eat breakfast the day of the tour, everything was delicious but we couldn’t eat it all. Tania is a great cook and teacher!!! Fresh ingredients, great food and drink and nice conversations.

Cooking local class was amazing! - What a wonderful experience! Tanya was lovely and really showed us the local flavor at the marketplace. She bought the ingredients and then took us and taught us how to make all of the dishes. I highly recommend this experience for those who wish for something a bit different than drinking and diving.

Oh my goodness!! Just do it!! - Just do it!! Could not have experienced a more perfect shore excursion while on our cruise. Tania is simply outstanding! She taught us how to buy fresh ingredients for salsas/dips, guacamole, fried beans, roasted squash, fish, plantains, margaritas, and demonstrated how to prepare everything. What a fun experience, and we topped it off with a frozen mango margarita. She even sent us the recipes so we can try to recreate at home. Just hoping we are up for the task. We will do this again if we have the opportunity to visit your lovely island. Thank you Tania!! Ray and Sonya. P.S. we fell in love with sweet Kira too!
