Unique Hot Springs Experience - We went on this excursion to the hot springs from a cruise ship and were met at the cruise port by our guide and driver, Edgar. He was very helpful and informative. The drive to the hot springs is long (close to 2 hours) and over very bumpy, rough, and curvy dirt roads. You get to see a lot of the countryside and mountains.
The hot springs are neat - they overlook a river valley - very pretty! There are several pools of varying temperatures - the hottest is maybe the temperature of a hot tub. They were enjoyable and a unique experience.
The hot springs are far from civilization. There were cold drinks for sale at the springs, but nothing else. Our guide kindly stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch on our way back to the port.
Overall - it was a neat experience! However, if you suffer from motion sickness or dislike long van rides, this is not for you! Otherwise - enjoy a day in the mountains!

Hot Tubs in the Sierra Madre Mountains - Gilberto, our guide from Lamby Tours, was excellent. The hot springs are up in the mountains and the drive is on a bumpy road through villages. Gilberto was a safe driver and shared history and personal stories of the area. At the hot springs, we were the only tourists for the first hour. We enjoyed four hot tubs that are built over the rushing river. The hot water, red clay mud masks and the sulphur springs really made us relax. Gilberto was very helpful on the trail (I am 71 and hike but he was still very attentive when I climbed in and out of the tubs - no falling!) Because we were on a private tour we got to stay as long as we wanted at the pools and then we headed for lunch in a local village. Delicious Mexican food (superb chicken mole!), mescal and some shopping. A memorable day in the Sierra Madre mountains

Peaceful paradise - Relaxing mineral springs in a picturesque setting. Imagine pools on a mountainside with river sounds below you. We had the place to ourselves. The guides were engaging, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the area. The road there is gravel and takes an hour an a half. A meal was not included but the guides shared their snack of tostadas and cheese. The groundskeeper made us a passion fruit drink and provided straws made from bamboo. A fun day in Mexico - My sister and I loved the adventure of going where few from our ship went. We followed a van to the springs with the other 3 of out tour, so 5 total.
Our car was newish and had ac and comfy, even with our 1.8 hour drive to the natural springs above the river.
Our tour guide and driver Tony made the trek up and down the very bumpy, and poorly grated dirt road fun. But at the same time educational. We were in the town of his birth and life so as he told us, we were seeing the real Mexico.
His English which he taught himself from listening and practicing was good. Even good enough to deliver side jokes and catch ours.
The springs could have been hotter. We sat in 3 and saw only 1 more. Not sure how it was talked about in guide as 6 tubs.

An incredible experience - My husband and I went on a tour with Lamby tours to the hot springs. It was incredible. The pool were amazing, the scenery was breathtaking and the guides were extremely helpful. I was a little bit unsteady on my feet and they helped me into the pools with grace and understanding. We had lunch at the hot springs. It was delicious and very well priced. The whole day is one I will remember for a long time. I am very grateful to our guides and would highly recommend this trip to anyone who likes hot springs!!!

Stunning clear rushing River views from 7 natural thermal pools. Highly recommend! ( not if mobility issues) - I wanted to rate this 5 stars, but my phone only displayed 4. LOVED this excursion!! I was picked up at the cruise port by Librado. Immediately he made me feel comfortable, & was an excellent guide! Spoke English, drove well( over very , at times, rocky mtn roads) The pools are GORGEOUS! Water healing and clean. Rocky, steep & slippery to get to some of the 7 pools, so wear good shoes, bring towel & sunscreen, hat. No food/ drinks there, so I would pack some .Pack light though as you need hands for climbing . I also received amazing watsu like massage by my host, which honestly was incredible healing & I can not recommend this off the beaten path gem enough !
