• Reserva Nacional de Flamencos - Within the Flamencos National Reserve lies the globally renowned Valle de la Luna, a natural sanctuary featuring landscapes of unparalleled beauty that resemble a piece of the lunar surface, hence its name.
• Valle De La Luna - Once inside the reserve, explore the geological marvel known as the Salt Mountain Range and enjoy the scenery from various vantage points. Visit the ‘Amphitheatre’, a natural structure reminiscent of Roman civilization, sculpted from rock and salt. Standing over 40 meters tall, it is visible from miles away!
• The Three Marias Valley of the Moon - As you approach “Las Tres Marías”, mysterious shapes of salt and mud will appear. Discover the delicate nature of the clay while exploring these natural formations, sculptures carved by nature: These statues are the female guardians of this cosmic landscape.
• Duna Mayor - Next, walk on the Great Dune, offering views of the Andes, Domeyko mountain range, and the Salt mountain range.
• Mirador de Kari, Piedra del Coyote - On the return journey to San Pedro de Atacama, stop at Kari lookout point “Piedra del Coyote”. For a perfect conclusion to the ‘Small-Group’ tour, admire the sunset and watch the desert colors transform! Situated at 2,550 meters above sea level, this viewpoint is one of the most iconic postcards of San Pedro de Atacama, offering a stunning panoramic view of the Salt Mountain Range, where water, wind, and temperature have combined to create this fascinating canyon.
