• Tropic of Capricorn - The Tropic of Capricorn is a parallel in the southern hemisphere, situated at a latitude of 23º 26’ 17” south of the equator. This imaginary line marks the southernmost points where the Sun can be directly overhead at noon.

• Piedras Rojas - The Salar de Aguas Calientes Sur is located 60 kilometers southeast of Socaire and 154 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama, heading towards Paso Sico (the border crossing with Argentina). This salt flat is also known as Piedras Rojas.
• Altiplanic Lagoons - Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons

The Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons, known as “Altiplanic Lagoons,” are sister lagoons formed by groundwater from the melting snow of the Miscanti hill and the Miñiques volcano. This natural setting is home to diverse wildlife, including foxes, flamingos, and vicuñas.

• Socaire Church - Socaire is a Lickanantay indigenous community, whose territory encompasses various ecological levels. The community’s livelihood combines livestock, traditional agriculture, and their by-products.

The Church of San Bartolomé is a historical landmark in Socaire. San Bartolomé is the patron saint of shepherds and those who work with leather, gloves, coats, belts, and boots, with his festival celebrated every August 24. The church features Andean colonial architecture, characterized by a main nave with side chapels, built using traditional methods similar to those of local houses, and is part of a long tradition of volcanic stone quarries and craftsmen.

• Chaxa Lagoon - Located in Toconao, within the commune of San Pedro de Atacama in the Antofagasta region, is the Chaxa Lagoon, the central point of the Salar de Atacama. This area is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve.

The reserve is notable for protecting species such as the puna tuco tuco, culpeo fox, puma, large parina, Chilean flamingo, small parina, vicuña, and guanaco. It also serves as a conservation area for vulnerable flora, including tamarugos and carob trees.
