Place to see before you die - Wonderful, but challenging. Worth to try it regardless of age group. You’re like on another planet

A great way to break up the trip from Chile to Bolivia seeing many cool things along the way - I decided to book this tour to see some extra places whilst travelling between Chile and Bolivia. It also includes all the main sights within Uyuni so it just made sense. Note, lots of companies offer similar tours however we met other travellers whose tours did not include visiting as many places as this one did and worse accommodation too. Day 1 was a bit of a mess but that was not the tour operators fault. There was ice on the road near the border so we had to wait on the motorway near San Pedro for 6 hours before the road opened again. We had breakfast on the motorway. The minibus was comfortable and had starlink WiFi. The border is at high altitude and we had to wait another 4 hours there because they had no electricity. We were brought empenadas as a snack. Once we finally crossed the border you split up into groups of 6 and get into 4x4 vehicles. The rear seats are not comfortable so we swapped places within the group occasionally so everyone had a fair opportunity. The first stop is the lagoon on the other side. We stopped for photos and then went to see the Geysers. We didn't have time to relax at the thermal bath but stopped there briefly. We drove past the Salvador Dali desert but didn't stop. We had to skip Laguna Colorada as it was starting to get dark. There are no roads but just dirt tracks and it's not a very comfortable drive for a few hours to get to the first hotel. We arrived quite late and had some dinner which was ok. The first hotel was ok had a comfortable bed, hot shower and starlink WiFi. We had an early start day 2. We went to see the world cup and camel rock formations then to stone city where all the tourists were free climbing up all the rocks. Then we stopped at anaconda canyon which was a nice scenic place. We stopped somewhere for lunch and then saw hundreds of llamas grazing in a big field and you could get really close to them. We then went to a trainyard where you could enjoy some local beers before arriving at our next accomodation which was a hotel made of salt. Lovely place to stay. Day 3 was a very early start to get to the salt flats in time for sunrise. Sunrise was beautiful. After sunrise we were driven to cactus Island and had time to hike up to the top. After the hike we had some more free time and had a basic breakfast there. Then we drove to the Dakar Monument and had some free time there. One thing our drivers didn't really do which others did was help you take all the fun tourist photos on the salt flats with dinosaurs and other props. This was really my only complaint. We left the salt flats and stopped at a small market to buy souvenirs. They were really cheap here and you could find a lot of different things. We then went to the trainyard in Uyuni and had some time there to explore and take photos. I realised I left my wallet at the market and our driver kindly drove me back there to get it which was a big relief. The tour ended with lunch at a restaurant in Uyuni. I did the one way trip and was dropped off to my hostel in Uyuni at the end. The rest of my group returned to San Pedro but I'm glad I didn't as the trip on Day 1 was quite rough. I stayed the night in Uyuni and then moved on to the next place as I felt this tour covered everything worth seeing in the area. It was a really well organised tour, drivers were nice and accomodation was satisfactory. It was nice to spend a few days with the same group of people too. Amazing memories would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience - This trip was one of my highlights of my Latam trip. I was a bit concerned because of less reviews: bringing your own towels and toilet paper though also the tour operator mentioned to bring own towels or rent. The hostels we got appointed provided all, including soap and were spotless clean, This is a great adventure which I highly recommend

One of the best trips ever! The scenery! - We have traveled all around the world and can state emphatically that Walter was the best guide we have ever had. When we heard there was going to be rain on the day we were visiting Uyuni, Walter heard our request to find a way to change the tour schedule and did so, although it was not easy to move things around. One We then had a beautiful sunny day with the mirror effect at the salt flats. It was a perfect day and perfect tour. 100% recommend with wishes for good weather.

It's worth it! - Wonderful experience these days roaming around the region. The accommodations were satisfactory and the care of our driver Carlos with us was the difference. He took care of our safety and food with affection. From the border, when we met our travel group was all great. The tour is quite rustic, with a lot of dust, and even being summer, it was very cold at night. It was 4 intense and happy days, as the salary is the cherry of the cake. Do not spend your money buying internet plans to use on the trip, as it does not catch. Only in the lodging, they charge a fee for use for a few hours. My operator's internet only caught on the last day, almost reaching Uyuni. At the penultimate stop. The meals were all wonderful, every day.
