We had an interesting time with our guide Luis. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learnd a lot about plants and animals and some of the history of UCR. And we were really lucky to see sloth which was even moving. Ist was a grear tour.

We only found a few sloths and a couple of birds on the entire tour. We looked at a banana plant and one coffee bush. Nothing was in the wild including the sloths which gave an artificial feel to what was supposed to be “wild San Jose.” Although a bit disappointing, the highlight was seeing the sloths which was the entire purpose of my participation. The best part of the tour was the meeting point, the Ondina Cafe. I arrived early for the tour so that I could have a traditional lunch. The food was terrific and the wait staff was very attentive and lovely. I gave our guide Luis a tip after the tour but I would never have added it to the booking without judging the experience for myself first.
