Night walk through the rain forest with wildlife in unexpected places - My wife and I did a night tour and ended up being the only two with a knowledgeable and personable guide, Andres. We started at 5:45 and did a slow walk that lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes, concluded with a traditional empanada at the visitor center. Even though the property is not huge and is fairly close to town, we saw a wealth of wildlife, including a sloth, opossum, coral snake, numerous caiman, frogs, toads, iguanas, basilisk lizards, and birds. We really liked the small group and knowledge of our guide.

One of my favorite tours - It was my 3rd visit to Arenal and this was one of my favorite tours. This EcoGarden is a lovely well maintained piece of true nature. It has so many native plants along with the wildlife of Costa Rica. Jose portrayed the passion he has for this garden through his enormous amount of knowledge. He was our guide for our night tour and we were back the next day for Leo’s sloth tour. It’s a little slice of paradise that everyone should visit.

Great guides, lots of wildlife! - Fun guide, lots of wildlife! We saw frogs, bats, birds, insects, spiders, and sloths! We had a 4 and 2 year old with us and they were safe and had fun. I know that it is a bit of luck as to what you see, but we were very happy. The price may be steep for some (it is about a 2 hour experience), but the price is also the same as any night tour is.

Great Park - Neat park! Highly recommend the night tour. We saw a baby sloth, glass frog, and many other interesting animals you might not see during the day.

Incredible experience! - Guide Erick really made the experience. He was phenomenally knowledgeable and passionate and it truly made this a memorable activity. We saw some incredible animals from caiman to sloths, multiple glass frogs and red eyed tree frogs, and even snake enjoying dinner. Erick’s excitement was infectious at every awesome encounter. Highly recommend and plan to return in the future!

Highlight of our time in La Fortuna - We enjoyed a night tour as a family of 4 with two children, and another family, Jose was excellent from start to finish and you can see how passionate he is about his work, this was a highlight of our trip so far, we saw Jesus Christ lizard, ringed kingfisher, caiman with babies, sloths, spiders, lots of frogs including poison dart and red eye tree frog highlight of our trip and really engaging for the children. We had a downpour of rain but that did not stop us seeing plenty!

Greta visit! Would recommend. - We (a family of 6, with four adult children and our parents) booked the night walk the day before, and it was so easy to set up. Jose was a great guide, and we saw Elmer the male sloth as well as another female sloth, a couple of poison dart frogs, the red eyed tree frog, and so much more. It started pouring rain about half way through, but Jose still found us lots to see and we still really enjoyed it despite the downpour. Jose is so passionate, and we loved supporting a local family effort (and it’s easy to do so because the offerings are great!). The tea and empanadas were very tasty afterwards. Thanks for a great evening!

Just OK - This was fine. The highlight was seeing a three-toed sloth with its baby. The lowlight was that our guide didn't find much else to see. My wife actually found a glass tree frog on her own that the guide missed. Thankfully she was being observant. The animals here seem largely imported, like it's an outdoor zoo where the animals can leave if they so choose. You go to the Sloth Tree, then the Frog Pond, then the Caiman Area. It's a quick way to see a few animals without testing your luck in going to an actual rainforest preserve.

Tour was on a plot of... - Tour was on a plot of family land kept as an ecological preserve. Jose was a good guide, able to spot several species of frog and even a young sloth. We saw a few varieties of birds, a young caiman, a large snake and some lizards. Hoped to see more sloths, but just never spotted them. Jose gave us plenty of great information on what we were seeing, and was engaging. Tour lasted about 90 minutes and then ended with a small snack. Not a bad tour overall, but a bit on the pricey side.
