A day trip to San Sebastián - My day started today with a sick husband who wasn’t going to be able to go on our reserved private San Sebastián tour. He insisted I go without him and enjoy myself. So, I did.
I was picked up promptly by Juan Carlos in a big, clean and air conditioned van. The drive to San Sebastián was comfortable and really enjoyable. My tour guide was a great conversationalist and it was like we were old friends! We chatted all the way up and all the way back.
The regular routed bakery was closed today but the tequila distillery was open so we decided to stop there for a bit of education and sampling. (Well I sampled!). Now, yes, it was 10:30 AM so I used a wine tasters trick and sipped only the smallest mouthful and spit the rest.
It was top quality, smooth and offered some unusual flavours. I picked up a couple of sample packs for the “kids” (they’re adults…it’s ok!). The host knew his product as he is also the artist who makes it…
Next we stopped at a chocolate shop and then the coffee plantation, where we did a little walk through and saw the beans growing amongst the other fauna. I picked up some items at both shops.
The walk through San Sebastián was informative and a real step back in time. Juan Carlos knew his stuff and shared facts and tales. He helped step down the uneven stairs and warned me about the awkward walkways.
The food at the restaurant was authentic and delicious. We stopped at a family operated silver shop where they offer handmade earrings, necklaces, rings and other things. I got myself some cute hoops and met the girl who made them. Loved it! We toured the church, town hall and prison. Juan Carlos took some photos of me in the surroundings.
The drive home went all too quickly. We stopped at a different bakery on the way back and got some sweets and picked up some chicken soup to bring back to my husband.
All in, it was a great day. I am very happy with the professionalism and courtesy that was bestowed upon me. I would recommend this service and my host any time.
I’m sure we will book another tour and request Juan Carlos on our next trip to PV.

Exceptional Performance by this company - Our tour to San Sebastian with Mario and Cesar was exceptional from start to finish. The booking experience was exceptional,
Pickup was on time, vehicle experience was excellent, the knowledge and insight provided by both Mario and Cesar was exceptional and they know this territory very well. Five stars for this one and highly recommend this company and these tour guides who bent over backwards to accommodate all our needs. Will certainly do other tours with Real PV Services.

Excellent tour of San Sebastián - We toured San Sebastián del Oeste with the wonderful Mario. It was the highlight of our week in Puerto Vallarta! Mario was informative, warm and fun to be around. It was like being with a long lost cousin who was an expert tour guide.
Mario and his colleague also lead tours of the botanical garden and other locations. I highly recommend Mario for tours around Puerto Vallarta!

Awesome Private tour with Mario - We had an amazing 6.5 hour tour to San Sebastian with Mario. He was very knowledgeable about the place since he grew up near the area and spent his summers visiting. His English was pretty good and he was able to even engage my almost 8 year old son with anecdotes and trivia about the place. His services are reasonably priced and the experience really felt like a very private tour and was not rushed at all. We went to local bakery where we tried our hands at making tacos, did a tequila demo, took a walk around the city, went to an old silver shop and finally ended with a coffee tour after a nice lunch at a local restaurant. Everything was included in the price except for the lunch.

Great tour of San Sebastián with Mario from Real PV Services - I went with my wife and kid on a private tour to San Sebastián Del Oeste with Real PV Services. Mario, who runs the business, was our guide, driver and photographer. He was extremely knowledgeable and communicated very well in English, a skill that was important to me. He grew up in Puerto Vallarta and spent his summers in San Sebastián, therefore was extremely familiar with the place.
I chanced upon his website as I was looking for a private tour instead of the large group tour that larger operators run. I am glad I made the choice as Mario picked us up from our hotel, engaged all members of our family including my 7 year old, and was very informative. He ensured that all food arrangements met our dietary restrictions. The van that he brought was clean and spacious and he drove very smoothly. We stopped at a tequila distillery, a bakery, town square, church, restaurant, coffee plantation, silversmith and more.
His services were priced very reasonably and he was very transparent about what was included and excluded. Even if you are a smaller group, I think a private tour can be a better value just given the time and hassles saved in getting picked up from your hotel and heading straight to the destination. Mario accepted US dollars cash when my USA issued credit card was being finicky. Overall he is a very reliable and trustworthy tour operator and I recommend him highly.
