• Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre - The tour guide will pick up guests around 8 am from their hotel or the airport. The first stop is the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, established in 1964 to return orphaned apes to the wild. Initially managed by the wildlife section of the Forestry Department, it became part of the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Development in 1988. The new Wildlife Department of Sabah now oversees its administration and management. At 10:00 am, visitors proceed to Platform B to observe orangutans being rehabilitated in their natural habitat and enjoy a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterous Forest of Borneo, followed by a 25-minute video documentary.

• Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre - Next, the tour continues to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, which promotes sun bear conservation in Borneo through animal welfare, conservation, rehabilitation, education, and research. The centre provides a better home for captured sun bears and works to restore their right to live in the wild by creating the capacity to confiscate, rehabilitate, and release suitable orphaned and ex-captive bears. It also offers an improved long-term living environment for bears that cannot be released, educates the public, raises awareness about the species, and enhances protection for sun bears and their habitat through ongoing research and increased knowledge.

• Sandakan Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) - Finally, visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre, the gateway to understanding the uniqueness and importance of Borneo’s rainforests. Located 23 kilometers from Sandakan Town and close to the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, the RDC features exhibition halls, the Plant Discovery Garden, the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, environmental education programs, and a small lake for boat rides. The RDC offers a Nature Experience program, including a guided walk to the Plant Discovery Garden, a Rainforest Walk, and various indoor and outdoor activities.

After completing the sightseeing, guests will be dropped off at Sandakan airport or their respective hotel (town area only).
