The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is a sanctuary where orphaned and injured orangutans are brought to be rehabilitated and eventually released back into the wild. Visitors can observe the orangutans being fed from a platform in the forest and enjoy a 25-minute scheduled video documentary.

Next, head to the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSCC) to see the efforts made to care for, rehabilitate, and release orphaned and captive sun bears. The centre also works to increase knowledge and awareness of this lesser-known bear species both in Malaysia and internationally.

Afterwards, take a 45-minute drive to Labuk Bay, where a 400-acre mangrove forest serves as a sanctuary for proboscis monkeys. Visitors can proceed to the observation area for a close and spectacular view of these unique and elusive monkeys, which are among the most peculiar animals in the world and are native to Borneo.
