I would do it again - Great guide. Pick up and drop off at hotel. I had a great time the guide was informative and made sure we were all ok during the hike.

Santa Ana Volcano Hike Jan 2026 - I had an amazing time on this excursion with Diego. He's genuinely friendly, incredibly patient, and never makes you feel rushed. He truly wants everyone to complete the hike at their own pace, unlike some other guides. Before you go, definitely keep a few things in mind: wear comfortable shoes (maybe skip the white ones!), light pants, and a lightweight jacket. Don't forget sunscreen, a hat, and at least two water bottles. This hike is no joke, and staying hydrated is key to avoiding exhaustion. Also, try not to eat a heavy meal beforehand, as there's only one restroom available once you get going. A quick tip for the trail: if you're one of the first in line, you might not have much time for photos since others will be following close behind, but on the upside, you'll avoid getting dusty. If you're towards the back, prepare to get dusty, but you'll have all the time in the world for pictures. So, you pick what's more important to you! Once you reach the top, it gets extremely windy, but trust me, the views make the whole hike totally worth it. I would absolutely book this excursion again.

Amazing views and respect to the people - We had an awesome time. Diego was perfecto! He kept everyone informed, he was engaging, made sure all languages were understood. The hike was a challenging workout but he gave good breaks to accommodate the differences in the group, took pictures, etc. The views were all worth it! I loved my stay in El Salvador!

10/10 guide and a beautiful high with amazing views - We booked this tour on November 15, 2025 and it was magnificent, the volcano was so nice to see the views were spectacular and it was a very fun hike. There’s some wonderful photo opportunities and even just getting to see around some of the local areas as we drove around who was great it was not terribly expensive in our fees to enter the park recovered by booking the tour. The atmosphere was very relaxed The vibes in general were pretty chill. Everybody was very friendly. I ended up with a whole bunch of people that I didn’t know but they were all cool. Crowds were not horrible. Even though there were other groups there, it never felt crowded at most one group might sidestepped for 30 seconds while another group got to pass them if the trail got a little narrow, but it was never bad. And our guy, Diego was absolutely top-notch so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and polite a super early to accommodate all of us came and picked us up drove us around was extremely personable, even so much is during the training time to help me with my Spanish, I could not recommend him more. I wish I had more time here, el Salvadore is beautiful, this would be good for anyone who want a little adventure, some exercise, to see another country or just wants to try something new.

Amazing Experience with Diego - Diego was an amazing tour guide — very knowledgeable, super friendly, and incredibly patient. The hike was definitely a challenge for my boyfriend and me, but Diego kept checking on us to make sure we were doing okay and always gave us enough breaks. He also had no problem helping us take pictures along the way. We really appreciated his kindness and professionalism — highly recommend him!

A really different experience - Wonderful experience that I definitely recommend. It is tiresome the walk but when you reach the top all that fatigue is rewarded by the sight. Diego, our guide, a genius. Super friendly and all the way he was telling us stories about the volcano and about the country in general, and when he saw that we were tired with all the patience he stopped for us to recover and move on.

Unforgettable and pleasant experience - I had a great time, Josue explained everything in great detail and was very friendly and attentive to everyone. I take rating of our needs and we adapt for the bed. In my opinion the route itself is medium difficult level, but the Good Mood and good vibe made me feel very comfortable and made the route more passing.

Santa Ana Volcano hike with Diego! - My tour guide name was Diego. He was absolutely AMAZING!!! He communicated with me until the morning of the hike. He was on time. He explained to the group what our day would consist of. We enjoyed a traditional El Salvador breakfast. He was very knowledgeable about the culture and history of El Salvador. He answered our questions about the country and taught us a lot about the beautiful country. That's all before the hike! During the hike we had little times to rest and during those times he educated us about the trees, birds, plants ash and eruptions. He was soooo helpful and patient. After the hike we enjoyed lunch overlooking lake Coatepeque. I HIGHLY recommend booking with Diego, he's awesome!
