Seymour Channel is a favored dive site due to its vibrant activity and proximity to Santa Cruz Island. It is a brief 25-minute boat journey from Itabaca Channel (north of Santa Cruz) to the dive location. Divers can expect to see various sharks, rays, and reef fish, with hammerhead sharks making occasional appearances. A unique attraction is the garden eels, with hundreds emerging from the sandy seabed.
Seymour Channel typically experiences moderate, and at times unexpectedly strong, currents. The dive site is suitable for divers of all experience levels. Divers descend near the island to a sandy bottom at approximately 20-25 meters. The sandy ground is home to garden eels, while schools of eagle rays glide by, and golden rays make occasional appearances.
