It stands as one of Mexico’s most iconic properties, rich in history and legend. Tradition holds that this hacienda in Galindo, near San Juan del Río, Querétaro, was a gift from Hernán Cortés to La Malinche in 1524, in appreciation of her exceptional service and diplomatic skills.
Five centuries later, this historic gem has transformed into a tourist destination that will captivate you. It features stunning colonial-era spaces blended with modern comforts, luxury, and nature for a unique experience.
- Amealco de Bonfil - This Magical Town has always offered much to its visitors. It is a special place known for its water bodies and forested landscapes. In Amealco, you can engage in various activities such as camping, mountain biking, hiking, ecotourism, and ATV trails.
Amealco is rich in traditions and culture, evident in every corner. Many residents have Otomi roots, reflected in the festivities, cuisine, and crafts.
Its name derives from the Nahuatl Ameyalco or Amellayi, meaning “Place of springs.” Founded in 1538 by the Spanish, the municipal presidency building was originally a house, and the parish priest’s house is still visible.
