Wonderful wine tasting experience! - This was a superb tour. We were taken to a very small wine producer and were treated to wine tasting in a beautiful, peaceful locaton. We were shown the wine making process literally one on one. There are only 27000 bottles of wine produced annually so the whole experience seemed very exclusive especially when we were taught how to secure the bottle top by the very process that was used, every bottle secured by hand. The wines were lovely and as we sat outside tasting them overlooking the beautiful vineyards we could hardly believe the beauty and peace surrounding us in the Loj winery. We then went on to the Santa Rita vineyard. This was so lovely, once again the views across the vineyards were amazing. We stopped for a quick wine tasting then went on to the Concha Y Toro winery where we tried three wines. It was a lovely day out and we learnt so much. Our guide was fantastic, nothing too much trouble for him and he ensured we had the best time. A tour not to be missed!

From start to finish was... - From start to finish was an amazing day with Ignacio. He took us to the Temple for a view of the city and two boutique wineries. He picked out a quiet place for lunch for authentic Chilean food. We got the opportunity to see most of Santiago throughout the day. Ignacio also talked about the culture and history of Chile.

Best wines - I had a wonderful time on the tour, it happened it was another couple and myself so very much private tour. It was an excellent experience to visit boutique with series that are not typically included in tours around Santiago. Our tour guide Ignacio had a wealth of knowledge about the city, Chile, its history, and wines so he was able to answer all our questions and provide recommendations. The wineries we visited had the best wines I tasted in Chile and I went on a few winery tours so that's saying something. Highly recommend.

Our Ideal Day in Santiago - Ignacio picked us up right on time and our first stop was Baha'i temple which gave us a beautiful view of Santiago from high up. The temple was also beautiful. Our next stop was at Vina Aquitania winery where we had a wonderful tour from Valentina. She showed us the vines, which were about to be harvested, and explained that they were a completely organic winery. She showed where and how the wine was made. We then tasted four very good wines while sitting outside on a beautiful day. We then moved on for a very nice lunch of some authentic Chilean food at a family owned restaurant. The food was plentiful and delicious. Our last stop was the Besoin winery. Tomas gave us an excellent tour, explaining how the wine was made and then we tasted four excellent wines in a beautiful setting. All in all it was a great day. Ignacio was an excellent driver and guide who showed us many interesting things around Santiago while on an excellent wine tour.

Interesting visit to two boutique wineries in the beautiful Maipo Valley - A very busy day with our excellent guide, Ignacio. He was so knowledgeable and filled in lots of additional information about Santiago and Chile. We started the day with a steep climb up steps to the Bahá'í Temple. This is a stunningly beautiful modern building, set against the backdrop of the Andes. Inside, an inspiring and beautiful place for quiet contemplation. On to our first winery of the day. Ignacio took us away from the advertised itinerary to two boutique, family owned wineries, each with very different approaches to winemaking. We were happy to trust his judgement. The first was Besoain Wines. A very traditional approach, using French Oak barrels, which the owner makes himself in the local cooperage. We tried the Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignons, a rose, and an unusual aged Riesling (2017), which was wonderful. All the wines were interesting and delicious. We stopped for a very tasty lunch at the rustic Restaurante La Vaquita Echá. At a large table in the centre sat the owners, surrounded by their extensive families. We had wonderful barbecued pork and lamb with fresh local salad. Our second winery was Vinos Lof ("Clan"). This is an ultra-modern building, set in the middle of the vineyard and surrounded on all sides by spectacular views of the mountains. We were show round by the owner's eldest daughter, who told us about her father's special approach to making and aging the wine. He uses no wooden barrels, and wine is made and aged in large concrete tanks. He believes you should taste the fruit without the intrusion of woody notes. The grapes are Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. We were joined by the owner as we tasted four wines, including a very interesting rose, produced from the Syrah. This was aged and oxidised to give a very dark pink wine with a unique, rich taste, almost like a Madeira. Tasting the two very different sets of wines, produced by very different techniques, was a great experience. The day completed with a drive back through the fantastic scenery, with the sun, now lower in the sky, beautifully illuminating the Andes. Thank you Ignacio. Great day!

Amazing private wine tour in Santiago - Our private wine tour was hands down one of the highlights of the trip, and that was largely thanks to our amazing guide. From the beginning our guide Ignacio was kind, funny, and incredibly personable—more like spending the day with a friend who just happens to know everything about wine and the region. Ignacio made the whole experience feel relaxed and effortless, sharing great stories, local insights. You could tell he really loves what he does which makes the experience even more enjoyable. He also did a fantastic job tailoring the day to our interests and pacing everything perfectly so we never felt rushed. If you’re looking for a private wine tour that’s informative, fun, and full of personality, this is absolutely the way to go. Great wine, great conversation, and a guide who truly makes the day unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Wine Day - This tour surpassed our expectations! The guide, Ignacio (aka Nacho) was fantastic. We first toured a small unique winery with a private tour and tasting led by Valentina from Aquitania Winery—- too bad for us that we couldn’t ship a few cases home! Then an authentic Chilean lunch with Nacho at a restaurant that he ate at with his family as a child. Then on to Santa Rita Winery for some history and more wine. This has been the highlight of our stay in Santiago!
