Recommended walking tour - It was a nice 2-hour walk through the area and as we were walking, our guide, Edward, shared with us a lot of facts about the history of the country. So if you are into this type of knowledge-packed sightseeing, this tour is a good choice.

Morning Walking Tour - We joined a group walking tour of La Colonia with several others. The tour was done by Orlando and in Spanish. It was excellent, well enunciated and easy to hear/understand. Would definitely recommend Kayoe and booking direct with them for your tours in Santo Domingo.

City tour Colonial town of Santo Domingo (Attention: the tour does not take place in German) - First things first: There are only 4 stars because the tour was offered in German. That was decisive for us to buy. Unfortunately, the organizer informed us at 08:30 on the day of the event (the tour started at 10:00) that the tour will only be conducted in Spanish or English. We were already on our way there. Very bad from the organizer! Our guide Gregori himself was very nice and explained everything well to us in English. Since there was only one other participant apart from us, he could concentrate well on us. The tour itself was informative and entertaining. We have visited several museums, the cathedral and a mausoleum. In addition, Gregori guided us through a stone cutting (jewelry making) and a chocolate factory. If we had wanted to, he would have taken us through the tourist market. All in all, the tour was recommended.

A good way to get more insight into Santo Domingo's past - Eduardo was a good guide, personable and informative. Unfortunately, because it was a Monday, many museums were closed. Potential tour takers should be aware there was a fairly long stop at a jewelry shop where visitors are strongly encouraged to buy. But we did gain some interest in the city’s past, which was our goal.

Some history but a lot of shops - While there was some history content, and a small walk, most of our time was spent in shops that were hoping we'd buy something from them. Met some lovely guests on the tour but wouldn't recommend.

Watch out for this scam! - Total scam. We booked weeks ahead of time and they cancelled our tour two hours before it was scheduled to start so they could try to sell us a more expensive private tour.
