10 out of 10, would do again. - Saona Island is beautiful, the water is clear and clean. The staff on the boats were very friendly and informative. The weather was perfect and the water temperature was even better.

Could have been good but wasn't - This may be the lowest rating I have ever given a tour. Booking was fine but I wasn't told that the meeting time had been changed and wouldn't have found out if I hadn't contacted the operator the day before on a different matter. On the day the pickup was fine, although early at 6.15am, and we reached Bayahibe without a problem but here things started to unravel. We were hanging around on the beach for some time and it turned out that we were waiting for another group to join us on the boat. When they finally arrived we got on the boat but this only took us a few hundred metres to a larger vessel. After changing boats we then had another wait while a further group was transferred to ours. We then set sail to the pool, which was fine, especially for some with the free bar. The pool itself was nice and a welcome change from sitting down. After this we headed for lunch but this meant another change of boats to actually get us ashore. When we got ashore lunch wasn't ready and the bar wasn't yet open. When lunch was ready it was like a swarm of locusts had descended although when we finally got food it was nice. Drinks were also free at the beach which some made plentiful use of. When it came time to head back we again had to change boats delaying us further. As for the party boat if playing music very load is your thing then this might be for you. Some passengers also took the opportunity to have some more free drinks. After the long drive back to Santo Domingo we finally got back at 8pm. What was advertised as a 10 hour day turned into 13 3/4 hours. A shout out to our guide, Victor, who did his best but the organisation was very poor. This tour could have been good but was let down by poor organisation and far too much hanging around, especially changing boats I would also say that if you want to take this trip you may be better doing so from Punta Cana as there would be less travelling time

Poor - Coach transport was poor/ falling apart; coach had weird suspension issue but didnt deter driver from driving at speed. Long 13-14 hour day but half of the time taking us to various selective gift shops en route. Aggressively instructed that we must leave the coach to use the toilet as a way to force all into the gift shop. Felt as though held for ransom until we purchased items from the local people in these gift shops meanwhile coach drivers sat down to eat their lunch. Once we finally (i stress the word ‘finally’) made it to Saona beach , the beach itself was paradise, food was very good and plentiful and catamaran ride was enjoyable. It was the tour operators that spoilt the overall experience - especially as we had 3 children with us. We didn’t feel safe the entire time. Note operator operates under MelNMar as well as Melinmar.

They're a scam. - I bought the viator tour, I trusted the platform, they did not indicate the operator. I was contacted by the operator that is Melnmar to ask for my details and pass pir me. On the day of the tour they didn't go through me, I tried to contact them by call and whatsapp and they never answered. Even when they filed a complaint with viator they didn't answer their calls either. They're a scam, avoid them at all costs.
