Wonderful day in the outskirts of Sapporo - My tour guide was essential in my excellent satisfaction of my day in the outskirts of Sapporo skirts. Her name is Sophia and she had a lot of patience and made sure that I understood the important aspects of the area we were seeing. She was wonderful. I enjoyed it immensely.

Beautiful views - Our guide Rita was fantastic! She had a lot of energy and kept everyone on the schedule while being very entertaining. Blue Pond was amazing and definitely worth the 2+ hour drive from Sapporo Station. The flower fields were also beautiful. The buffet lunch hit the spot and featured some local Hokkaido fare. Great excursion!

Fresh in take of Nature - Enjoyed the countryside and of course the main events were great. June was too early for lavenders. But you can still see them and many other flowers

Good trip to view the countryside. - The countryside was beautiful. The guide Sophia was very knowledgeable. I think the time for lunch could be shorter as well as the two flower farms. The final stop at the fairy village could be skipped entirely.

Beie & Funaro - The tourist guide Rita is very nice and very helpful, she gave clear explanation on every items of the itinerary, and in both languages. But the season has not yet arrived for full flower blossom so that I felt a little bit disappointed. Excep the above, I enjoyed so much for the trip, especially the melon tasting 😋

Glad to get into the mountains - This was an ambitious day trip from Sapporo into the mountains. We were given amble time to see a waterfall for the first rest stop, then the Blue Pond, a very good buffet lunch, then a drive on a farm tractor to see the rolling hills in the distance and autumnl flower beds. We then stopped at an alpine village of craft workshops with autumn colors. It was a day out.

The Secondary Effect of a need Solution - Biei Pond - The town of Biei had a problem. They had to do something about the mudflow from Mt Tokache that damaged the town. In 1988, town officials developed a pond to help stop this event. A very happy secondary effect was the pond’s color change from a cobalt blue to a shade of emerald and turquoise. According to what I read, the bright blue is thought to be caused by colloidal aluminum hydroxide in the water, which is natural there. It is trendy, and you’ll need a walking stick because the trail is rutted out. The picture doesn’t do justice to this site. You must see it in person to get the full impact of this area. Additionally, if you're feeling really energetic there is a 23 km bike course that goes around the area. I didn't feel that energetic and I didn't have my bike with me. Maybe next time :)

nice sites, but very crowded and not much English explanation given - Very long bus ride, tour marketed as 10 people, but there were 25 plus people. Not a lot of room on the bus. Additionally each site was very packed and had to wait significant times.
