Great experience to view colorful fields of flowers!! - We took a bus tour that left from the Biei Tourist Information Centre for 3 1/2 hours long. The tour included four stops that Shirogane Blue Pond and Shikisai-no-Oka (Panoramic Flower Garden) were part of. There were a lot of people upon our arrival at the Flower Garden but fortunately the bus company had already purchased our entry tickets so we did not have to wait in the long line. We visited during the second week of August and there were rows of colorful flowers on the hillsides that you can view from a distance away. There is also a tractor that hauls people around for close-up views but I believe that it is a separate admission price for that. I'm not sure if the tractor does stop at all. The best thing is to walk around the hillsides to view as well as photograph the flowers. The colors were so vibrant from a distance away-- bright red, yellow, orange, along with purple, pink and white flowers. There were also two whimsical bales of hay decorated as a boy and girl scarecrow welcoming everyone at the entrance. In addition, there are alpacas here that you can feed and pet through a fenced in area. I believe it is a separate fee for that portion of the visit. A nice experience to encounter if you have not had the opportunity to spend some time with alpacas as they are very gentle and quiet animals. It is well worth a visit here during the summer months when the day light hours are longer. A lot of color for sure!!

North-East & Central Hokkaido day trip with Rita - This was a big day out from Sapporo Central train station: north exit, hosted by our very informative and ever happy 😀 host Rita. It was around 2 hours drive to get to the start of our day in the mountains. We were fully informed in English/Mandarin. We had plenty of stops including the main attractions of the Blue Pond (amazing to see in real life) and the Flower Farm (plenty of colour left, but only a week or so & there would be little: we went on 18 October). Plenty of shopping available. The lunch stop was terrific, with most of us opting to buy our own. Rita helped organise everyone! The food was cheap but very nice: free hot tea was consumed as was a free ice cream. We started around 8.30am and returned at 5.30pm. Would we do this again: No, but only because these touristy places, in our opinion are, once seen, then ticked off as done. This is no reflection on our very capable and caring host Rita, who must have been exhausted after looking after our bus load of enquiring tourists all day. Was it worth the $$$ paid: in short, absolutely: you would be crazy to think you could do all that we did in a day by oneself via public transport or a rental car: if you had a week and could afford to stay in nice hotels out there and hire a car, you might: but we couldn’t. So in a nutshell, we would recommend that you spend our hard earned dollars on this all-day trip and lastly, we sincerely hope you get Rita: she is one of the best guides we have come across in our many years of international travel: 5 big cheers for Rita and our great bus driver!!! 👏🏽👍💁🏼 We know how important these independent honest reviews are to our fellow travellers, as we do. We know this is a long review & thanks for getting to this point: the end. ALGreynomads

Breathtaking views at Farm Tomita - The flower fields make for such an awesome view. It would have been nice to have had someone in the farm give some info on its operations too. Also beautiful to see is the Shirogane Blue Pond. Ningle Terrace sounds quaint but lacked activity. Very few sellers are actually inside the houses producing their crafts.

Wonderful day , loved the experience - Excellent experience. The Guide Rita was very fluent in English and two other languages ( Mandarin & Japanese). She was very pleasant, helpful and answering all questions very patiently. The driver also drove carefully and we had a lovely day visiting all the sights in Furano. The Tomita Farm and Blue Pond experiences are the most cherished .

As it was still the end... - As it was still the end of summer, we were fortunate enough to catch the sight of colourful flowers but sadly no more lavender. Our guide, Rita of Gogoday Travel, was very cheerful and informative through the full day tour. I appreciated her pleasant disposition on a long day travelling in a bus. Thank you, Rita!

Wrong time to attend this... - Wrong time to attend this tour. Wished I had know the flower fields was non existent due to weather and the current time of year. This tour should stop once the flower fields are done.

Not in fall/winter - This is probably a beautiful tour in summer or spring. We went in mid Oct and all we saw were empty fields and snow( which was at least something). But the attractions they take you too are all barren or closed up.

Too much time on the bus - Our guide Sophia was fantastic and knowledgeable However the majority of the trip was spent on a cramped bus The sites themselves were very pretty but there was limited time available at each stop Our experience was hindered by the rain and unfortunately no umbrellas were provided The melon buffet advertised was not delivered as it was out of season Overall, a disappointing trip for the amount of money we paid
