• Latin Bridge - Named after the neighborhood on the left bank of the Miljacka River, where Sarajevo’s Catholic community lived, the Latin Bridge is steeped in history. From 1918 to 1993, it was known as Principov Most, in honor of Gavrilo Princip, who assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sofie, near this bridge. This event, known as the Sarajevo Assassination, triggered the start of World War I.
