Wonderful experience - We had a great visit to Butrint as part of a day trip from Corfu. Very interesting site with Roman ruins and other remains intact. Well explained by tour guide. Site is quite big, but mostly under trees so you can get some cover from sun. Remember to wear good shoes/trainers as some uneven and rocky parts and some steps/steep inclines.

Professional Guide made our tour remarkable - Our guide, Toni is a very wonderful person. So far, our trip to the Ancient city of Butrint has been the highlight of our stay in Albania. We loved how he explained the history of the site, he went over and beyond to make our tour a remarkable experience. His explanations were very detailed, in a way that you could imagine sceneries from the days of the Roman Empire. His jokes were also top-notch.

Exciting visit into the past. - The different ruins were all interesting but our guide Tony's descriptions and explanations of historical context brought them all into vivid life.

A tour to remember. Value for money. - A wonderful place to visit especially for history lovers. Awesome remains. Walking constantly in the shade of the trees made it easy and comfortable. Our guide Alban was great with good command of english. He knows his job very well. Agreat guide.

Good 1/2 day tour - Good communication through WhatsApp. Tour guide picked us up at our hotel. Drove us to the tour destination after picking up the other participants. Stopped and got us all water. Paid the admission fee (tour description said we would have to pay separately). Gave a informative and well paced tour. Would have returned us to our hotel but we requested a different location which the tour guide accomodated. Overall good experience. Only negative was the coffee stop, in that it was a good bit out of the way and not very interesting.

Visiting the Butrint site... - Visiting the Butrint site was wonderful and our guide was knowledgeable, but I woud have liked more time in Butrint to explore. The visit to Butrint was packaged up with some other sites in southern Albania that I wasn't interested in, and this put time pressure on the Butrint component.

Nice Tour - We had a lovely tour and enjoyed the site. It was more climbing than I expected but it was a very interesting tour. We thought the guide gave a good overview of what we were seeing.

Great tour but poor arrangements by Viator - Our tour guide Tony was excellent and his information and knowledge really brought the site to life for us hence the very good score. I would recommend Butrint as a site to visit. However the booking through Viator needs some improvement and I would score Viator much lower. We had booked the tour for 3.30pm. Shortly before this we had a message saying they couldn’t do the tour due to the heat and asking us the swap to the next day. We eventually managed to book for 5.30pm but the tour guide told us they only usually do tours in the morning so this does need resolving between Viator and the local tour company. Also the car had no useable seat belts in the back.

Cool Site, Disorganized Company - The tour of Butrint was good, the guide gave interesting information about what we were seeing and was mindful of the heat, always taking us to shaded areas when possible. But the booking itself was totally disorganized and poorly communicated to me and to the guide. At 10pm the night before my tour I got a message saying the tour would start an hour later than my 8:30 booking. No explanation or check to see if that worked for me. Luckily it did, so I went at 9:30. However, during the tour it was revealed to me that the group was on a full day tour of several places, when I only booked a “2-3 hour” tour of Butrint alone. As such, I had to go with the group to a second location unplanned, and thankfully the guide agreed to drop me off at my hotel before taking the group to the next 3 stops. Because of this terrible coordination (the guide had no idea I had booked the shorter one stop tour), I ended up being on a 5 hour tour that started an hour late. Just very poor communication and organization on the part of the tour company, but again the guide was very helpful, informative and accommodating. No complaints about him specifically, and Butrint was very interesting.

Sorry I missed this - Unfortunately the tour company did not pick me up as arranged in booking and I had to cancel the excursion.
