The park surrounding the Blue Eye features a lake, a bridge, a rocky path, and stunning mountain scenery. - Lekuresi Castle - A visit to Saranda is incomplete without exploring Lekuresi Castle. Constructed in 1537 by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman I the Magnificent, the castle marks a period of significant Ottoman expansion in the region. Suleiman I launched an attack on Corfu and established a manor on the highest hill inland from Saranda to oversee the entire valley below, from Corfu and Ksamil to Saranda and beyond, towards Butrint. Surrounding the fortress of Lekuresi are the remnants of the village bearing the same name. The castle’s square layout creates a spacious open area in the center, offering an extraordinary panoramic view.
