Don't recommend. Expensive and poor - From start to almost the end this trip was not good. We were given a choice of 2 times for collection due to the tides to go to Bako National park. On arrival we were told we had to wait almost 2 hours as tide was too low. It was a bumpy ride to get there. On arrival you see the"resident" wildlife, 3 "wild" tame hogs and silver leaf monkeys. They hang around the canteen area. There was a sleeping lemur apparently but too high up to recognise.... even with a good camera. We did a 1.5 hour hike... yes it was hard work and slippery due to the rain. Nothing to see except fauna. And then you arrive at a beach. The dirtiest most plastic bottle polluted beach you will ever see!!!! They said its cleaned weekly. Some of those bottles had been there ages looking at their condition. The park should be embarrassed. Then what we thought was a circular walk was only one way. So we had to return exactly the same way. Lunch was included. It was nice and cooked fresh but took so long, it only allowed a 2nd 15 minute walk before the boat had to depart. Then we went to permaii rainforest. We are a couple in our late 50s and they put us in to share a 2 bedroom villa with 2 x 20 year olds. I don't know who was more uncomfortable!!! It was not expected. We arrived too late to do any trails or anything really. So dinner and bed. Then we were collected 9.40 am. So it was a waste of time. We went on to view a longhouse but because they thought it was going to rain it was very rushed and not very informative. We asked a few questions but the answers were not known. We had lunch provided there freshly cooked. Then left. So too short a visit to learn or experience anything. Then onto a homestay in the mountains. Got there 3.30. Walked up a very steep, unsafe hill . It was ok. Meant to see sunrise and sunset but didn't (and they tried to charge for the privilege). Nothing to do, so early night. Collected the next day for Sarawak waterfalls. Now.. that was good. So my advice is just do a day trip. I would not use AJBorneo because of the high prices for what we received. I did advise then if my view before I did a review and suggested they changed the itinerary. It's a shame as I was looking forward to this very much and expected more for the high price charged.
