Skipper was very professional and very patient with me. They answered all questions. They helped us to prepare for the written exam as well. I loved it and would return back to add to my skill.

The captain was an ok classroom instructor but he was great on the water. Very cool and calm as we learned how to control the boat and react to the changing environment. He provided individual student instruction when needed and let us learn on our own as we skippered the sailboat during the on water training. Very friendly and home like environment was very comfortable. We stayed on one of the live aboard boats for the full sailing environment and had a great time. This was very laid back and nothing like a high pressure “class”. Will continue to use South Coast Sailing for the 103 and 104 certifications.

The staff was great. Very friendly, flexible, and easy going. They really made the whole experience as painless as possible. Great dual learning experience with both classroom and hands-on learning. I didn’t most of the book, but what I didn’t learn myself, they taught me in the classroom but so much more while we were out there sailing. Olen was our sailing instructor and he was so great. Never having been on a sailboat before, he braved the open water with our group and taught us all so much. He’s definitely the reason I passed my certification test!! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
