Strange Brews - We had a fantastic time learning about the ingredients and combinations, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, that result into myriad of flavors, both complex and clean. It was great getting to create cloudy smoky beverages with a blowtorch, creating theatrical cocktails, and learning the nuances of bitters, of freeze-dried v roasted non-perishable ingredients. We also had a lot of fun watching the theatrical components of the Greenfire space, which is a bit like a cirque performance. Last but not least, it is always great fun to become another character, mad scientists all in craft cocktail making.

From the moment I stepped... - From the moment I stepped into the space at Melrose Market and headed upstairs, I was immediately immersed in the experience. You’re greeted, handed a lab coat, and invited to choose your own scientist name, which sets the tone right away. I went with Dr. Love (because Love is my middle name , and from there, it was pure fun. This isn’t just a tasting it’s a hands-on, science-based mixology experience. You get to experiment with fresh ingredients, explore flavor combinations, and create cocktails and mocktails that are both intentional and delicious. It truly feels like stepping into a playful lab where creativity and curiosity lead the way. I loved the variety of ingredients, the choices, and the freedom to create. You’re not just drinking you’re learning, experimenting, and having fun. I went alone and had an amazing time, but this would be perfect for friends, groups, or a special outing. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something interactive, joyful, and different. I can’t wait to do it again .

Perfect for Solo Travelers Who Love Something Different - I went solo and was a little nervous walking in, but the second I put on the lab coat it felt like I’d stepped into my own tiny science movie. The host was warm and attentive without hovering, and made it super easy to mingle if you wanted or quietly tinker at your station if you didn’t. By the end I’d met a few new people and had a stack full of mocktail ideas I can recreate at home.

Strange Brewing with Weird Science-Witchy! - Had a fun, rewarding time learning about molecular science, organic chemistry, craft cocktails, and flavor combos. It was truly fun, and wonderful to try dufferent flavor combos, be encoyraged to recreate distilled spirits, try all the bitters. I learned plum bitters smell and taste just like bubble gum! The theatrical stagecraft as well was super fun. It's great for families, couples, work parties, events, retreats with morale building, and more! Excited to go back!

Very interesting mixology experience. - As a non‑drinker, I usually skip anything ‘mixology,’ but this workshop was made for someone like me. I booked by myself and never once felt out of place. The instructor checked in about my preferences and gently nudged me to try flavors I wouldn’t pick on my own. I left with three legit bar‑worthy mocktails, a better sense of how to balance sweet/sour/bitter, and a big grin on my face.

A New Zero-Proof Experience for Cocktail Nerds - Our team booked the Mad Scientist Mocktail Lab as a dry alternative to a typical happy hour and it was a total hit. We had folks who don’t drink at all, people doing 'Dry December', and a few cocktail nerds, and everyone was equally engaged in non-alcoholic drink concocting. The host kept things light and funny while quietly accommodating flavor preferences. It felt more like a playful lab party than a class, and the zero‑proof drinks were fancy enough to rival any bar.

One of a kind experience! - The Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab was in the perfect environment for this activity. It had a very "mad scientist" feel with the decor, test tubes, and all the elements to experiment with - endless combos of colorful herbs, powders, garnishes (everything available you might think of). We got to be creative and play around with some interesting combinations. Jen, the host, was very knowledgeable, encouraging creativity and fun. We walked out with a several great creations each and will try to recreate at home. Highly recommend for a light-hearted, alcohol-free enjoyable time together in Seattle!

Great option for mixing without alcohol! - This mocktail-focused lab is a fantastic place to explore creative drink making without alcohol. The host has a wide variety of mixers, spices, and non-alcoholic spirits. There are so many fun possibilities, and you won’t miss the alcohol! Having been to both labs - with and without alcohol - I can confirm the host is quirky and fun in all settings. She’s knowledgeable and helpful if you need help. With how many of us are trying to take care of our bodies, this alcohol-free option is a great alternative to traditional bar settings. The lab is an awesome setting with plenty of conversation pieces.

BEWARE OF SCAM - Would not recommend. The lab was sticky and unclean with leftovers from the night before. The utensils had old food stuck to them, and the snacks were stale or expired. The instructor came in and said she would clean and restock, but she never did. The gingerale and drinks were flat, and the glassware for instagram pictures was dirty. We weren't aware that there was ice until she told us halfway in through the class... for $100 per person, it was a sorry experience.

Mismatch between description and reality - I think yesterday’s session just went sideways on the host Jen. The AC was not working in the building and it was an unseasonably hot day in Seattle. Jen appeared surprised when we arrived for our session and seemed a bit disheveled and disoriented. We immediately decided it was not a good plan to continue. We thanked Jen for her time and left before the session genuinely started. As I said, maybe just a bad day. Seeking refund
