Fantastic tour to Mt St Helens - We had a fantastic tour to Mt St Helens on a sunny Weds with tour guide Connor and 3 other travellers. The tour was well planned with many stops at interesting places, explaining the natural history of the area and then the volcanic eruption itself. Connor picked a great picnic spot near Coldwater lake and put on a delicious gourmet lunch spread. I appreciate the effort Connor went to during the drive playing us an audio book of people’s experiences during the volcanic eruption. He always made sure we had a drink or snack. His knowledge of the geological landscape was extensive. And the finale taking us to Joe’s Survivor museum was amazing to view the local people’s experience of that time during the volcanic activity. Overall a fantastic day!

Great way to visit Mt ST Helen's - We went on three 1-day trips with Evergreen Escapes: to Olympic NP, St Helens and Rainier. All of them were great, very well organized, offered a tailor-made programme, with beautiful sights and hikes adjusted to everyones's abilities. For Mt St Helen's our guide was Sarah, who was very professional and took good care of us, entertaining us. The trip included a visit to the visotor centre, with lots of useful information about the 1980 eruption, a delicious lunch in a nice picnic spot and some hikes, the longer of which was through areas that the nature is reclaiming after the eruption. Definitely recommended!

Incredible Experience of Mount St. Helens!! - Brent Maphis, Naturalist Guide, took our tour group on a mind blowing excursion of Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. The trip was worth every penny as it opened my thoughts to nature and the majestic power that the 1980 volcanic eruption of Mount Saint Helens caused. Yet, the damage of the 1980 eruption was replaced by new lakes and greenery. If you are open to seeing nature in a new way, and are willing to have your perceptions of the incredible force of the Mount Saint Helens 1980 volcanic eruption enhanced a thousand fold—then this tour is for you! Wow is all I can say! Brent Maphis, Naturalist Guide, did a spectacular job gently guiding the tour group toward a new and fuller understanding of the incredible Mount Saint Helens Volcanic Monument. Way to go to Evergreen Escapes and Brent Maphis on a job well done! Bravo!

A day among giants - Did this tour last week (August 2024). Kayla was our guide, and she was awesome! She made sure we all got to know each other, and as it was me plus a party of four who knew each other, this made me feel part of the crew! We swapped life stories during the drive and the social aspect was really pleasant without being overwhelming. As for the tour itself, we made a stop in Lewis and Clark State Park to walk among the tall trees of a genuine pacific northwest old-growth forest, and it was an experience I will never, ever forget! Sadly as we went on to the main part of our trip, we didn't get to see the top of Mount St.Helens, but the small walks that we did got us fairly close to the mountain and allowed us to appreciate nature's beauty and power. We ended the day at a place called North Fork Survivors. This newly-founded museum dedicated to preserving the memory of the people who perished in the volcanic eruption is maintained by Joe, who happens to be a Sasquatch researcher working with a University to collect data on this elusive primate. He is passionate both about his work on his museum and about his research. He is as dedicated, articulate and convincing as he is friendly, and this stop on the way back to Seattle could very well be the highlight of your day! The other guests were elderly people, and the so the tour was kind of mellow, but I didn't mind at all! It only showed me how Evergreen Escapes will tailor the day to people of all ages and abilities to make sure everybody gets the best out of their day. My only (very minor) gripe is that I would've liked to see a bit more of Mount St.Helens from various other viewpoints, as this is the theme of the tour, but I still got to see plenty of it : )) So hats off to Kayla, who was funny, friendly, well-organized and insightful, for making this tour an unforgettable experience I most definitely recommend!

A Mountain of Fun - Our senior group of four was extraordinarily pleased with our 12-hour tour to Mount St. Helen’s Monument. Our guide Kayla was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, articulate and had a great personality and a wonderful sense of humor. The tour itself was awesome. We hiked several trails at appropriate intervals during the drive and were served a beautiful picnic lunch in a park near Coldwater Lake. Dinner plates with silverware, tablecloth, and cloth napkins were set out with sliced chicken breast, a bean salad and a cheese corn salad, tofu, and dessert. It was a memorable tour with a number of other interesting stops and we all enjoyed the whole day. Definitely a 5-star adventure.

Awesome day at Mount st Helens guided by Brent - An awesome day spent at Mount St Helens. We had Brent Maphis as our guide, he was very knowledgeable and answered all our tricky questions. Brent is extremely nice and a funny person who made sure that the whole day was enjoyable to all of us in every way; from making a solo traveler like me feel so welcome to the tour to setting the table nice for our lunch. Recommend this tour with Brent to anyone wanting to visit Mount St Helens

A Bucket List Trip - My hubby booked a small group tour as a birthday gift for me and it took nearly 12 hours. It was a long day but there were only four of us and we all got along fine. There was some confusion about getting to the pickup location (given bad directions by someone who didn't know where anything was), and nearly missed the meeting time. Luckily for us, Brent was willing to come by our hotel and get us. He was more than friendly and helpful the entire day, and we all talked together the whole day about our various travels. He also had great snacks, water and sodas the entire day for us. He also laid out a picnic lunch from a catering company (like I have read they do for their customers) on a picnic bench near Coldwater Lake. We also took intervals outside the van to walk through old growth forests and one that led to a nice waterfall. I had lousy shoes on that day and I managed to do all of the walks except the last half of the last one. My good walking shoes were left in a hotel near Seattle and I didn't have time to replace them, so I was pretty proud of myself for doing all that walking over rocky, rooty and hilly terrain. When we did get to Mt. St. Helen's, many other people were out that day, and it actually cleared off at the top, which our guide says "never happens." I felt pretty special since I got to see that on my birthday. The only reason that I didn't give this tour a five rating was, it was too long a day for me. We had been on the move non stop for several days, some nights not even getting dinner, and I was ready for some rest!
