Great when you are short on time and can’t do space needle - Great experience besides the spectacular views , the exhibits were great and the price was right! Did not eat there thought menu wasn’t what we were looking for , did a local happy hour instead!

Tons of fun! - It was awesome! We got in and walked through the museum like part of the exhibit. People were really friendly and super knowledgeable. If you have an opportunity to go, please do. Worth every penny!

Definitely Worth A Visit - Recommended by other tourists we are so glad we went. We bought golden hour tickets so a bargain at just $15 each. The visit is in 3 parts - 1 - The exhibition / museum bit on two floors. FABULOUS. I love all the old typewriters and stuff. The stories of the previous office tenants and shenanigans is great giving a fabulous incite into the prohibition years. I loved and read everything 2 - the observation deck. The short elevator ride was fun and the attendant definitely part of that. The deck was great because unlike the space needle it has any boards pointing out and giving info about everything you can see. We walked round a few times to make sure we’d seen everything. The ‘box the space tower came in’ was so funny. 3 - the Chinese room / bar. Just lovely, the decor is so welcoming and indulgent you feel like it’s a treat to spend time there. Not utilitarian like the space needle cafe. The drinks are pricey but with reduced bargain tickets my cocktail was technically free!! And it was really good too. The staff were friendly and kind too. Definitely add this landmark to your trip. Maybe have a coffee at Vitas first too.

Great guided tour of the Smith Tower with Patrick! - Went on the guided tour. Our guide Patrick was very knowledgeable and funny - he wove strands of stories about the Tower and its inhabitants together to present a fascinating picture of bygone Seattle. He really brought Seattle history to life. Would definitely recommend this experience!

Brought back fun memories for my Mother - We recently celebrated our 96-year-old Mother a ride up Smith Tower. She had not been back to the Smith Tower since her Ballard High School's Prom dance was held there in 1947. She loved it. I had forgotten what a great view this tower offers. And for the price I would do this rather than the Space Needle all day long. However, their food is really awful. The offerings sound good when reading the menu but it is really tasteless, overcooked, and I am not even a foodie! My Old Fashion drink was even subpar. If they up'd their game in the food department I would frequent this hidden gem more often but if you go order a beer or I will say, their Observatory Sour drink was delicious.

Don't go to the high tea! - The observatory and building overall is really cool. However, you can skip the high tea. The $75 was not worth it at all. The service was poor, food was dropped on the floor and took forever to clean up, and really the food was not that great. The desserts were an absolute failure.

View was great but Food was not - A friend recommended this place so we could see some great views, which we did!. Absolutely no complaints about the view or observation deck, which is 360 degrees. The rating primarily reflects the lack of staff and the lengthy wait for our food and drinks. We were greeted immediately, and the gentleman seated us right up at the window....we were off to a great start! Our server was friendly, but you could sense stress. The restaurant was only 3/4 full (Friday 6:30pm). Once we got our drinks and placed our order, we didn't see her or our food for a very long time. I got her attention finally after about 40 minutes of ordering our food and asked how much longer - she said there was only one cook going as fast as she could and it should be out any minute. And it did, but our app and entree now all came out at the same time, and the potstickers were cold, and the pork sliders were also cold and very dry with little flavor. The kicker is that we had to pay $30 just to go up to the observation deck. If you're going to charge someone a cover just to be able to have the experience you are offering, then you should offer a better experience. I would consider going again but only to have a glass of wine and see the view -I'd keep food out of the equation.

Refused Service - My girlfriend and I entered with a reservation. There was no wait on that Sunday. We were greeted enthusiastically at the entrance and took the elevator ride to the top. There we were refused service at the bar. I asked the server why, and she vaguely said that it's like that sometimes. All around us people were seated, drinking, and eating with almost three hours left before closing. We went out to the observation deck for ten minutes and left frustrated to go somewhere else. It was a very disappointing experience considering the bar wasn't even full.

Unguided tour for price of guided tour - I ordered the guided 45 minute tour for 5 people . The way the ticket was printed/laid out, it looked like starting time was 1.45. We arrived about 20-25 minutes early. The ticket said to meet at 506 2nd Avenue, the Smith Tower grand entrance with bronze doors. They were locked. We waited outside until about 135 at which time I became worried that no one came out to greet us. So I went next door, NOT the address printed as specific meeting place, and inquired. Was told our tour ENDED at 145, not started. I pointed out time on ticket, he pointed out time on a different line on ticket for start. Told us we missed it and maybe they could fit us in next month. We paid extra for guided tour, but I asked if we could just self tour, he gave us tickets. No literature, no map, just go into that door, that's where your tour would've started. We wander through, make it to elevators, one opens up, it's the same guy. "Are you going to the second floor?" he asks. I don't know, is there something to see there? he takes off, comes back and drops us at 2nd floor. No suggestions of what to do, where to go next so we decide to go to observatory floor. Again not knowing significance of anything we are seeing. The view was great, the cocktails were good, the shareable food was good, but after spending $156 for guided tour, $70 to park 2 cars, $190 at the lounge I still know very little about the Smith Tower. There was no effort to accommodate us. had they just even looked for us where we were directed to meet, we could've easily gotten 1/2 the tour without affecting our time limit or their schedule (even though there was not another guided tour for our entire 3 hour stay). An effort would have been nice. A self guided tour info sheet would be nice
