Well worth the time and money. - After reading reviews we were on the fence, do we go or not? We went. And boy was it a great experience. We felt the enclosures at this zoo are among the best you will find in any zoo. Plenty of room for the animals to roam. Sure they occasionally won't be visible, I'm fine with that. The bear enclosure was fantastic, large, plenty of room for the bears to roam and plenty of observing areas. The orangutan exhibit was also fantastic. Lots, and lots of space for the animals to move around in. The same can be said about the gorilla exhibit, and pretty much every other animal enclosure. Clean, no smell like some have said,we were among the first to get in on a Friday in early September and we were done shortly after noon. If you like to wander and take your time, absolutely do not hesitate, go.

Family tourist vacation experience - Great experience! Keep the kids going and going and entertained! (14,10,8yr) Loved how they had a "snack shop " consistently thorough-out the park! (For chips, food, water, soda, etc!!!) The ONLY recommendation I can make is to have a worker at the exits so they can tell you how to get to the parking lot you parked in.(since many are from out of town) We came out on the opposite side we entered from so we got confused!

Good day trip - This zoo has a great layout. Maps everywhere, and wide open spaces helped break up busy crowds. Lots of animals to see! Wish we had gotten to see more however. Cold and rainy weather meant a good amount of animals were not out much

Woodland Park Zoo is at a low point from where it was! - I agree with the reviewer before me. There were missing animals and empty animal areas throughout the zoo. I have been going to this zoo for 50 years, and it is at a low point right now. Partially due to wokeness. They have gotten rid of the elephants, hippos, and other animals to appease animal rights activists, which to me is ridiculous. We just went last weekend and the entire wolf pack they had was gone, but there was a sign saying a new wolf pack was coming soon. They also have gotten rid of major exhibits in the last handful of years that really were the best parts of the zoo -like the reptile house and nocturnal house. (Most of these animals are nowhere to be found now) These were the best exhibits of the zoo, and they ripped the building(s) down. They also had a an area where you could feed parakeets and a butterfly exhibit, these are also gone! Many of the animal exhibits have a bare minimum of animals, such as the safari area. We only could see one zebra, two giraffes and a couple of gazelles. In another area they used to have a small heard of elk, we only could see one, same with the kangaroos. There were two, when there used to be more than a dozen. I would say probably 60% of the animal exhibits were missing animals with having only one or no animals at all. Lastly, they are adding a bunch of extra paid optional experiences that cost a significant amount more than your admission leaving large exhibits with nothing in them when the experience is not open. They have put in a lot of large new areas serving food and catering to charging groups large amounts to rent. I feel this is a joke. This zoo receives large amounts of tax dollars, but they seem to be more intent on trying to bring in extra money, instead of using the tax dollars wisely. It reminds me of the way the post office is run now. I was considering buying a family annual pass before visiting, but now I am not!

Trip cut short - Make sure no private events are taking place because this will cut your trip short. No notice when ordering tickets through Viator.

Not all animals were out - While it was great to see the animals that were out, the animals such as the gorillas, monkeys, rhino, and lemur were not. This was very disappointing.
