- Thingvellir National Park - Þingvellir National Park offers stunning and unique natural beauty, being the only place on Earth where tectonic plates meet. It is also one of Iceland’s most historic sites, where the ancient parliament was held.
Visitors will spend about an hour here, exploring the breathtaking Hakið viewpoint and walking down the largest rift in the area, situated between the tectonic plates and the location of the Wall from Game of Thrones.

Geysir - The Geysir geothermal area may not be the largest, but with the erupting hot spring Strokkur, it is arguably the most spectacular in Iceland. Strokkur erupts approximately every 4 to 7 minutes. Other hot springs are also worth visiting, including the dormant yet largest Geysir, along with many others that spout or bubble, showcasing vibrant colors. Simply amazing.

Gullfoss Waterfall - Some claim Gullfoss, or the Golden Waterfall, is Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall, among many others. Visitors can judge for themselves. It cascades around 32 meters (105 feet) in two stages, allowing enjoyment from two levels. The milky-brown glacier river color explains its golden name.
-
Fridheimar - Friðheimar tomato and horse farm is a delightful stop on the way from the Golden Circle to the South Coast, perfect for lunch. At the bar, guests can savor the delicious and renowned tomato soup with bread, tomato beer, or one of the Bloody Marys available, or even tomato ice cream. Before or after, take a stroll around the greenhouse filled with tomato plants. Before returning to the car, visitors can also check out the Icelandic horses bred at Friðheimar farm.

Seljalandsfoss - Seljalandsfoss waterfall, approximately 60 meters (200 feet) high, receives its water from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, also known as E15 after the 2010 eruption.
In summer, it’s possible to walk behind it, but even in winter, it’s worth a visit, especially in the evening when it’s floodlit.
-
Volcano Eyjafjallajokull - Eyjafjallajökull is visible in good weather from much of the South Coast route. If the weather is favorable, a viewpoint stop will be made to learn about this giant volcano that disrupted many travel plans in 2010.
-
Skógafoss - Skógafoss waterfall is fed by a mountain pass between two glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull, making it potentially enormous. It falls about 60 meters (200 feet), and visitors can get close enough at the bottom to almost touch it.
-
Reynisfjara Beach - One of Iceland’s most breathtaking beaches, not only for its black sand stretching in all directions. Visitors can also enjoy views of the famous Reynisdrangar sea cliffs. The basalt columns and surrounding lava formations are stunning. A stop at the Black Sand Beach is a must-see.
