So much to see! - We self-drove this tour and made the following stops: We started from our hotel in Hveragerdi and our first stop was Thingvellir National Park where we stopped to see the tectonic plates. This is unlike anywhere else I have ever seen. The scale of it was immense and it was so exciting to see and set foot between the two areas. It was extremely cold and the waterfall was frozen. However, my son visited with school last year (same time of year) and the waterfall was flowing so it was nice for him to see the difference. We drove on to see the Geysir which was so interesting to see. It goes off every 5-10 minutes and was well worth the wait to see it shoot up in the air. There is a visitor centre here with a cafe and shop if you need food or supplies. Next stop was Gulfoss waterfall, only 10 minutes' drive away. Now this was absolutely spectacular!! It was very frozen in places but there was still movement and it was my favourite thing to see on this trip. The size of it was so unexpected - it's massive! It was also absolutely freezing here at this time of year - I only took one photo as my hands hurt after taking my gloves off! It was so worth it though. There are several viewing points and we would have stayed longer if it wasn't so cold. The last place we stopped was the Kerid Crater. This was well worth seeing. Once again, we didn't stay long owing to the temperature but we enjoyed seeing it. There is a walkway high up around the top of the crater and also steps down into it and down to the lake. Both the steps and lake were frozen solid the day we visited it. We didn't attempt the steps as it looked treacherous but some people had gone down there, I assume with Yak Trax on their feet! All in all, this was a great trip. Easy to do on your own (weather permitting - keep checking your apps) with beautiful landscapes to see all the way round and we saw lots of Icelandic horses which was a bonus. This circuit is an absolute must-see and you can pack a lot into a day with plenty of time to explore each highlight.

Great experience at the golden circle - Great day, we've had a lot of fun. The Tony guide was perfect, telling us stories, moments of Icelandic history, geographical and geological explanations... My daughter and I loved the icy waterfalls, the geyser, the moonscapes, with this white coat of snow and ice! This is to be seen at least once in his life!

A fabulous Golden Circle experience with Reykjavik - Icelandia Tours - This excursion with Reykjavik - Icelandia Excursions was very enjoyable. We visited Geysir, Gulfoss Waterfall and Pingvellir, where the boundary between the Asian and North American tectonic plates meet and constantly move apart. Our guide, Dylan, was informative on a wide range of topics and gave a running commentary through the day. Our driver, Mikki, was a considerate driver and the coach itself was very clean and comfortable. We were collected from a bus stop a couple of minutes from our hotel and dropped back there at the end of the day.

Lovely tour even with not so lovely weather - We did this tour in October of 2025. We were picked up at the city hall bus stop. The guide got off the bus and called out names of people on the tour and made sure they had everyone before leaving. The bus was comfortable and had wifi and USB charging ports for your devices. Our guide was informative about each stop and also filled the time between stops with lots of information about Iceland in general. She was really excellent. At each stop she gave suggestions of what paths to take and how long it would take to walk them and how long we had before the bus had to leave which helped us plan the at each stop. The weather wasn’t the best, overcast and some light rain, but the driver really did a great job especially on the way home when it became very foggy.

Fantastic time - This experience was quite wonderful. I love when a guide is passionate about what they are talking about. I love how most of the information was shared on the bus and we were free to roam and experience it all.

Golden Circle Iceland - First of all the guide was great. He was exceptionally knowledgeable of the facts and did an outstanding job. Second the landscape and sites we visited were spectacular. We were amazed at the sheer beauty of Iceland and its history. However, a four star rating because we were very disappointed in the “pick ups” we had to do which added unwanted wait time to the trip. In one case our guide had to go looking for the several passengers who were to ride back with us to Reykjavik. That particular location we waited 15 minutes past the scheduled departure time. So we had a total of three stops on the tour. We did not expect these delays. Other than that we loved the tour. It was fantastic. I’d recommend this tour with the caution that it’s not the express “train”.
