Extremely unprofessional experience - On 31/12, me and 15 friends booked the tour for the northen lights with Halldór We wanted to share that we had a really bad experience as the guide was not prepared at all: he didnt have an app to forecast and see clouds as well as he didnt have an app to see intensity and position of the Northen Lights. He actually relied on one of my pax to follow it and was almost asked him advice. Furthermore, he was not in contact with other guides / people to share aurora sightings or best place to go, he just randomly pointed places where we could’ve moved to and asked us if we wanted to. On top of this the tour should’ve included a professional photographer, but the guide took out the camera only when asked by us and just took a few pictures that we never received. In the end we did see a bit the Northern lights but only because a pax of mine saw it and asked the guide to stop, otherwise we would have come back to Reykjavik. We found the service extremely unprofessional and unprepared especially based on the high price paid. Nothing against the person that was with us, but the service was not what was advertised. We know that the Northen Lights is a natural phenomenon and we know that it’s not the guide’s fault whether it is visible or not, but what we are complained about was that the guide was not prepared for the service paid.
